If this man is your doctor, sign out AMA and go to another hospital. The only conversation he will have with you is to try to get you to withdraw care on your loved one. Even when all the other doctors disagree. Any patient of his should be aware of his actions and NOT listen when he tries to convince you to just give up.

I cannot believe he is in charge of sick people! All he was concerned about was making us withdraw care. Eventually transferred my wife to the medical ICU where the care was outstanding. DO NOT let him care for your loved one!!!

He’s a very very good doctor

This man is a horrible and dishonest doctor. When my mother-in-law was in his ICU, he repeatedly tried to pressure us into withdrawing care on her. Luckily, the other doctors told us they disagreed, and we refused to make her DNR. We spoke to other families in the waiting room often who said they were experiencing the same. A year later, my mother-in-law is now alive and well and living a wonderful life. I cannot believe Rafael Barrera practices in a field where he is supposed to be saving lives. He is despicable.

This doctor should not be in the medical profession. He is insincere and no bedside manner has no empathy and will hasten the death of a patient by disregarding any feelings or needs. He made my mom's pain remain the cause of her passing. If you have this man enter the SICA unit get oufast he is in the wrong profession!
