Dr. Raman Lata Vij, MD

Dr. Raman Vij received her medical degree in medicine and went on to complete a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in New York City. She is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and has additional subspecialty certification in electrodiagnostic medicine.

Prior to joining Kessler Institute for Rehabilitatio in 1982, Dr. Vij worked at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson, NJ, and St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. She also served as a clinical associate in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.

Dr. Vij, who began her Kessler career as a staff physiatrist, was named clinical chief of outpatient services for the hospital’s former East Orange campus facility in 1989 and now holds the same title at Kessler’s Saddle Brook campus. She specializes in electrodiagnostic medicine and in …orthopedic, musculoskeletal, neuromuscular and amputee rehabilitation. She is also experienced in the use of Botox for spasticity.

She has lectured on a number of topics, including muscle physiology and electromyography perspectives for the arm, elbow, neck, back, and hip. Her research interests focus on electrodiagnostics.
