Dr. Ramon Edgardo Flores Gonzalez

My wife has been under Ramon's care for years, which makes this experience especially disappointing. She has been hospitalized at Mount Sinai Hospital since Friday, July 10. Beginning on Monday, July 13, her pulmonologist, rheumatologist, and the hospital physician overseeing her care all began trying to reach Ramon regarding her treatment. I also left messages and sent emails myself. As I write this review at the end of Wednesday, July 15, three full days have passed since those first attempts to contact him. Despite repeated efforts by multiple physicians caring for my wife in the hospital, as well as my own messages and emails, there has been no response whatsoever, no phone call, no message, and not even an acknowledgment. When a patient is hospitalized and several members of the medical team are attempting to coordinate care, communication is not a courtesy, it is a professional responsibility. For three days, the physicians actively treating my wife have been waiting for a… response that never came. That is unacceptable. My wife and I entrusted Ramon with her neurological care for years. During one of the most critical moments of her illness, that trust has been profoundly shaken. Regardless of how busy a physician may be, hospitalized patients and the doctors caring for them deserve timely communication. I hope Ramon understands the impact that this kind of silence has, not only on patients and their families, but also on the physicians trying to provide the best possible care. Our experience has been deeply disappointing, and I sincerely hope no other family finds themselves in this same situation.
