Dr. Raymond Tien, MD

Back surgery in November 2018. L3, L4,L5 herniated discs. 8 months post surgery no complications and generally pain free. Returned to golfing 2-3 times per week.

Dr. Tien may be a good physician but dealing with his staff will drive you crazy. I have been rescheduled at the last minute several times. There is no followup on requests for insurance authorizations. This is a slow process and this office doesn't help

Three years ago I had a traumatic head injury. Fortunately I was in the emergency room when I went into a coma. The ER MD called in Dr Tien who operated on my arterial brain bleed in time to save my life.

Correctly diagnosed what was lacking from my first back surgery. Showed me before (MRI) and after (CAT) images and explained why additional surgery was needed. Said he was almost 100% he could correct my problem - which he did! Also has great PAs.

Dr. Tien recently performed an aneurysm repair on a fairly large (9mm) aneurysm located behind my right eye. He and his staff, Cody in particular, went to great lengths to ensure I understood and was comfortable with everything related to the surgery, including a cerebral angiogram the day before surgery. The staff responds promptly to phone calls and questions and go the extra mile to make sure my medications are managed and received in a timely manner to treat post-operative pain and muscle problems. I highly recommend Dr. Tien for anybody needing this kind of care; I also highly remmend Dr. Anthony Hadden at Northwest Brain and Spine. He is a highly skilled surgeon who performed a cervical fusion on me in 2012 and has been incredibly helpful and proactive in making sure my recovery has been smooth. Dr. Hadden is both a surgeon and an engineer; other physicians I've seen since my fusion have been duly impressed with his work on my neck and how well my recovery has been managed. Like… Dr. Tien, Dr. Hadden also has an excellent staff, in particular his assistant Ande, who , like Cody at Dr. Tien's office, is a very bright, compassionate, helpful person to have around when major surgery is at hand.

Dr. Tien is not only a skilled surgeon, but also a very caring and compasionate doctor. He explains procedures very well and will answer all your questions, taking his time to make sure you completely understand the procedure to be done. He is absolutely the BEST!
