Dr. Richard John Teff, MD

DR Teff was polite and professional during my consults. However while he was performing my 2 level lumbar anterior/posterior fusion he managed to cut my iliac vein that needed vascular repair. A few days I developed blood clots in my Iliac, femoral, greater saphenous, and popliteal veins. These clots were unable to be removed because of the spinal surgery. I now have 18” of stents in my leg that keep clotting off and constant pain. I was active duty in the military and he performed the surgery while working at Madagan Army Hospital, Fort Lewis, WA. Please find a different neurosurgeon.

Great doctor.....kept us updated, is open to any questions that u may have. He never rushed thru appointments. So sorry to hear that he is no longer working at Phoenix Spine in Goodyear, AZ. Happiness to u as u move forward in your God given career as a Surgeon. Thank u

Thanks Dr. Teff for giving me life again. What I liked is he took time to explain every aspect of what to be expected and how he care about me after wards. His side manners are amazing. Great surgeon.

This man jas made it so my sister can barely walk. She is in constant pain. He put screws through a nerve bundle and the damage is not repairable. She just turned turned 40 with small grandkids and she can't even play with them without excrutiating pain!!

I have trusted Phoenix Spine twice to fix my cervical spine with anterior and posterior procedures. I could not be happier. Dr Teff and his staff are approachable and professional. The office atmosphere is not stuffy, which I really appreciated during those stressful visits when I learned what procedures were needed.

Laminectomy procedure in L2and 3. Extremely prompt initiation of MRI and X-ray diagnostic procedures. Immediate feedback provided. My initial consultation with Dr Teff was informative with a very clear explanation and demonstration of the spinal stenosis issue and prompt preparation for a pending surgery procedure. About 12 years ago I had a similar procedure done on L45. At that time my surgeon insisted I go through almost a year of non surgical procedures resulting in no relief. Dr Teff immediately provided me with an honest and forthright recommendation. Thank you Dr. Teff! It has now been one month since my surgery and I feel 75 percent better.

I had low back surgery. I have had lower back pain for almost 20 years from a fall while I was pregnant. I was misdiagnosed in the past by other physicians and chiropractors. Dr. Leiberman and Teff were very thorough in their diagnosis and were able to help me. After the surgery, the pain was gone. The nursing staff and doctors at the hospital were very thorough and kind too. I highly recommend these Doctors.

Dr Teff has a very reassuring demeanor, and when I was in terrible pain, I found that to be priceless. He explained what was wrong, told me how he would fix it... and that was that! My surgery was a month later. I no longer have'skull-aches', after 4 years! .

Recently having had back surgery I thought the Phoenix spine center was a very professional office. The Staff was very helpful and informative about the surgery that I was going to be having. Was my surgery was done Dr Teff was very comforting with his bed side manor and concerned with my well being. I would also recommend this office to anyone that is need of help with their back issues.

Dr teff checked on me AT LEAST once a day in the hospital. He made sure I was comfortable and he made me feel like I was in good hands.
