Dr. Richard Wayne Wilson

I have to say how impressed I am with Dr Wilson. He was a second opinion for me regarding whether or not I needed a hysterectomy. My concern was that he would lean towards surgery without listening to my symptoms and concerns. This concern was unfounded. He sat down and interviewed me thoroughly about my symptoms and made suggestions for me outside of surgery which totally impressed me. I am a health care provider sent to him from doctor and now I can see why the recommendation was made. He is thorough, kind, thoughtful and takes the time to sit down face to face and review your symptoms with you. He is the epitome of professionalism. I will now be sending my patients to him as well.

I had horrible menstral cycles. My first procedure that I was going to get done was a Colposcopy. Dr. Wilson went over my options and I decided that I would want that. After choosing that procedure I really read some bad things from people that had that certain procedure and went back into Dr. Wilson and discussed a possible hysterectomy. With the seriousness of my cycles we decided that a partial hysterectomy was the best option. The day of the surgery I was a scared emotional wreck. Dr. Wilson held my hand until I fell asleep from the anesthesia. That was in 2010. With changes to insurance their office no longer took my insurance so I had to go to someone different. In 5 years I have not found another Dr. that was as nice and personable as Dr. Wilson. I now need another gynecological procedure done and have switched insurances and it is one that he takes....Thank God. I would refer him to anyone.

Dr. Wilson is an amazing doctor. I can't say enough good things about him. He cared for me during my first pregnancy. He was always patient and answered all of my questions. He is obviously a competent doctor and walked me through each complication of my pregnancy step by step, explaining the condition and the options. The wait to see him can sometimes be a little long but that is because there is a line out the door of likeminded people who think he is great and want to see someone who spends as much time with each patient as they need. When we needed to deliver my daughter via c-section, I had never been in an operating room and I was pretty nervous. During the surgery preparation, Dr. Wilson could tell I was scared and so he held my hand until my husband was shown in and the procedure could start. That type of kindness is rare and is a testament to Dr. Wilson as a person. Follow-up care has been stellar and he counsels me not just on medical issues but on personal issues… related my chaining family dynamic. All in all, Dr. Wilson is one of the finest clinicians I have ever had.

Hands down the best doctor I've ever seen. I couldn't possibly say enough wonderful things about him. Just referred my mom and best friend.

While the wait time at the Ahwatukee office can sometimes be inconvenient, as a previous poster commented I would like to share why I think it's worth it. I have been a patient of SWWC for over 13 years and have had the opportunity to meet most of the doctors and staff during that time. Dr. Wilson is always my first choice for appointments and my request for the few surgeries I've had to have during my reproductive years. He never makes you feel rushed during your appointment and is willing to answer any question. I recommend him and his office to any of my friends needing OB/GYN treatment.

I had a hysterectomy a couple of months ago. I was referred to Southwest Women's Care per my OB, Dr. Damore. Reviews were read and I made my appointment with Dr. Wilson. I typically pick a female doctor; so it was out of my box to pick a male for anything involving my lady parts. Dr. Wilson was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and open. Since my vagina was involved it was a no holds barred conversation involving all of my fears regarding this surgery. I sincerely appreciated his professionalism and candor. The surgery was successful and I felt back to normal after one week. I only took pain pills for 48 hours. I realize this may not be the norm; my experience exceeded my goals. A big thank you to Dr. Wilson.

I have been seeing Dr. Wilson for the last 4 years and really like him best of all the doctors in the practice. He is nice and professional; does not rush through the visit. Actually getting an appointment and getting in to see him is another story! I have better luck in the Mesa office having my appointment on time. I waited over an hour for a follow up to a procedure I had and could wait any longer because I had to pick up my kids from school. I let the staff know that I had to leave and the circumstances and I was still charged for the office visit eve though I never left the reception area. This was the Awatukee office.
