Dr. Robert Thomas King III, MD

I've had two eye surgeries by Dr. King,spaced a couple of years apart, one on each eye for torn/detached retina. Highly skilled, very caring. He identified the tear when another surgeon completely missed and overlooked it. Time is everything with detached retina. I trust my eyes only to Dr. King from now on.

He made me blind in one eye

I was in Hilton Head for the winter and needed two injections for macular degeneration. I was attended to promptly and felt no pain at all from the injections, in fact I left and had lunch, went shopping and the next day I played 18 holes of golf. I wish he was located in Pittsburgh.

He was able to diagnose my mother, however when it came to talking about treatment or possible solutions, it felt like he was rushing us out. Slightly too arrogant for a doctor, didn't seem to care or want to listen, as if the diagnosis (which was not thorough as he was rushing through), was all we had come for. Furthermore we've tried to schedule a follow up to examine potential solutions but to no avail, it's as if he simply doesn't care or is too busy to care about the patients

Impatient with me and my concerns. Did not seem to care about my problems dealing with losing my sight. Not very helpful or hopeful. Seemed bored.Joanne

very abrupt and not very sympathetic to my mother's fears of going blind; supposed to be an expert on macular diseases but said no testing or treatment could possibly help
