Robert Shaw, MD

He doesn't deserve even a one star rating. Dr. Robert Shaw performed a rivision surgery on eighteen year old implants. My left breast encapsulated two months after surgery. Dr. Robert Shaw preformed a second surgery on my left breast six months later to remove, repair, and replace a new implant on the left breast. Several months after the second surgery it started getting hard, setting high, and it was painful. I found out that while Dr. Robert Shaw was performing my second surgery he replaced my dirty implant, not replacing the implant with a new one from Metor. This surgery turned out like the first only worse. I became sick, lethargic, no left arm movements, it was warm to the touch, painful and embarrassing as high and hard as it was setting on my body. Dr. Robert Shaw tried sending me to another surgeon relating my arm pain and movements to a rotater cuff issue, my arm pain was from the implant that was hard and high. Dr. Robert Shaw falsified my medical records stating that he… removed and replaced a new implant. He wanted to perform a third surgery and I declined. I found a surgeon that would perform a third surgery to repair all the damage from the prior two surgeries from Dr Robert Shaw. When I had to do a third surgery I opted to have them both re-done from a plastic surgeon in Kansas. I have permanent numbness on my left breast because so much infection, scar tissue that had to be removed from the prior two surgeries from Dr. Robert Shaw. My new surgeon provided me with photos with what was removed while performing my third surgery. Cox Healthcare defended Dr. Robert Shaw's actions. Mentor the implant manufacturers couldn't provided a new serial number because Dr. Robert Shaw used a dirty implant. Mentor was shocked when they found out that Dr. Robert Shaw did not use a new implant. Mentor provided Dr. Robert Shaw training that doesn't allow re-inserting a used implant in their training that they provide to Dr's. I am out of my pocket over $110,000.00 with surgery costs, missed days of work, medication, travel expenses, 24 hour care for seventeen days. Cox health wouldn't help with the costs. I asked Cox Health repeatedly for assistance with five certified letters, they declined each time defending Dr. Robert Shaw's actions. Cox Health is a non-profit and they have different laws governing their insurance requirements. If I can post photos I will. If you would like copies of documentation, photos, or information please reach out via this post. Make sure you do your due diligence before choosing Dr. Robert Shaw to perform surgery on you, a loved one, or a family member. There are better surgeons out there, that care, have compassion, honest and do the right thing. Cox Health is a poor choice in the Springfield Missouri area. Cox Health if you respond to this post be honest with your words it all can be verified via documents.

Dr. Shaw and all of his staff, are amazing! They have explained everything to me, and held my hand the entire journey. They all really care about how you are and feel. I received a breast reduction, and I could not be happier. He did an outstanding job. I am so happy with the results, and the care i received before and after the sugary from the entire staff. If you are needing plastic Surgery in any way, this is the place to go. Dr. Shaw has the best bedside manner, really listens to understand. I wish I could give more than 5 Stars. A big shout out to: Dr. Shaw, Dr. Austin, Nick, Colin, Kristen and Pam. You all are absolutely awesome, thank you for being the best of the best. I would never want to go to any other place.
