Dr. Roy Alan Majors, MD

Dr. Majors was very professional and caring about my knee condition. He talked with me in a very down to Earth manner, taking time to explain his diagnosis and plan to fix the problem. He showed compassion through eye contact and was very thorough. I was impressed with his medical knowledge and his straight forward way of conveying it to me. He answered all my questions without dismissing them, which was very respectful. BTW, this was my first visit to his office. I would highly recommend Dr. Majors from my initial experience. I understand from other reviews I have read about Dr. Majors, that he is a fine surgeon as well. I hope that I don't need to find that out personally! :)

Dr. Majors was very rude and arrogant. He did not take the time out to review my MRI results or even explain what he saw. He told me the issue I was there for was not the issue. Told me I had arthritis and that I only had 2 options the shot or more PT and take anti-inflammatory pills. He wrote untruths in my summary report and stated for me not to be referred back to his clinic for an appointment. It doesn't hurt my feelings any at all. I would not go back to him if he was the last surgeon on earth! I would hurt and pray for healing. He was not impressionable at all and put words in your mouth to make himself look and sound good. Karma is always a you know what! His day will come!

I had seen Dr. Majors for an injury to my left knee. He was condescending and rude. I had come back 5 weeks post injury and had asked for an anatomical and physiological reason why my knee was still not functional 5 weeks post injury and his response was so patronizing and whiny. He huffed and said "duh, you dislocated your knee!". He was so unprofessional and rude! I also questioned why he wanted to do surgery without having physical therapy first so my right leg was strong enough to support me while I was recovering. He laughed it off and said that I'd be having PT after surgery anyway and not to worry about it. I really didn't feel like that was a good idea so I got a second opinion. That doctor refused to do surgery on my until I had a minimum of 6 weeks of PT. When I went to the hospital to have the surgery my nurses weren't familiar with my surgeon but were well acquainted with Dr. Majors! They told me he was extremely rude to the nursing staff as well and was even reprimanded… for his bad behavior by the hospital. I wouldn't wish this man on my worst enemy!

I went to see this guy with a messed up shoulder. He spent all of 2 minutes in the room with me, was rude, dismissive, and said he could go in there and fix it but it would just undo itself and there was no point in trying. Then he ordered a plain MRI (when I actually needed an MRA) and my next visit with him was more of the same. Thank goodness I found someone else who ordered the proper imaging to figure out what was going on, and that I got in with an ortho that actually has the experience and knowledge that could address my severely unstable shoulder and perform the capsulorrhaphy and SLAP repair I desperately needed. No more constant subluxations! I will never ever return to OrthoCarolina. Dr Majors, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Dr. Majors has performed Shoulder Arthroscopy With Rotator Cuff Repair with Biceps Tenodesis, Space Decompression and Acromioplasty on both my right and left shoulders, he was excellent in all regards to my procedures, subsequent physical therapy and recovery....I've referred more than one friend/colleague to him for consultation.

Got acl and meniscus surgery could barely walk been in physical therapy for 6 months knee is no better kept tellimg dr majors that i was in pain only offered pills released me while im still im pain. Told me to lose weight and come get a cortizone shot if I needed it. Does not listen or try to help you only gives you pills and say leep going to physical therapy. Worst doctor ever#!##

Dr. Majors methods are just a bit aggressive (so I'm told), but the results are wonderful! Two rotator cuff operations (different times) and I was back lifting weights quickly. Even my PT could not believe the results.

Our experience with Dr. Majors was highly professional, thorough, clear in communication of medical opinion and options, and very prompt. From initial visit, through consideration of surgery options, to post-op analysis and support, Dr. Majors is one of the most organized and knowledgeable medical professionals we have ever had the pleasure of working with, and his support staff are equally professional and courteous.

Appalled at the total disregard of reviewing my chart. Suggested a couple of "fixes" that are non-options due to my medical history and allergies. No eye contact, less than 3 minutes in the room. Gruff, dismissive, rude. Found a great second opinion that actually has a game plan how to fix me rather than blowing me off and ignoring the warnings in my chart. Ugh! The staff is great, but Dr Majors has one of the worst bedside manners I have ever encountered.
