Dr. Ryan A Richards, MD

This doctor is phenomenal. My son has two previous surgeries by a different doctor and was still experiencing pain. Dr. R took the time to listen to my son and scheduled exploring surgery. He found the problem, which wasn’t textbook, he then had to figure out how to fix my son’s tendon, which he did, beautifully. This doctor is thorough, kind, articulate, and did an amazing job. If you need a doctor that will help you figure out your issue, because it isn’t textbook, this is yourguy.

First tried to replace the joint, this failed because he split the front of the bone then tried to wire it back together. This caused the joint to fail and the finger top to slide off toward the pinky. to fix this he had to miter the bones to be able to fix the two parts secured by a long screw. Thus leaving my finger in a permanently bent 20'. As it healed the tendons became locked and the tip would not come forward so I was typing in the first bend of the digit. It was very painful. Now, two months after, it has frozen again but seems to be in a better position.

Dr. Richards is an excellent doctor and I highly recommend him, along with his entire staff. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating, and very patient with a nervous grandma!!

I've had two surgeries by Dr. Ryan Richards in a years time. He is an outstanding Dr. in every way. I'm very grateful I was refered to him. His excellant care has been and will continue to be a blessing in my life. I highly reccomend him.

Dr. Richards is meticulous and perhaps downright anal, which is exactly what you want in a hand surgeon. He informed us very well of all the risks, and scheduled physical therapy visits to help on my road to recovery. I'd recommend him to anyone.

I just found out that I have a Ganglion Cyst in my left wrist. I saw Dr. Ryan Richards who has seen my mom several times & has never messed up on her hand. I will be seeing him soon & I trust he'll do a good job. I met him at the surgical center in Provo last year & he did a great job with my mom's hand, she really likes him & that he's a great surgeon. I know MY surgery will go well. His PA is a cutie pie! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!

Was honest in assessment, told me that surgery might not help. But with the pain was willing to take the chance. He did a great job with the surgery and now I have full range of motion and can play the piano again with no pain. I highly recommend Dr. Richards to anyone.

Dr Richards explain very well the case senerios of what he was going to do depeneding on the extent of the injury. Every Doctor thought it was a torn tendon but they couldn't know for sure. It turned out to be torn and hole in my cartilage & damaged nerve endings. I haven't been back to the doctor in follow up vist but, so far everything has been good and being trying to be addressed (pain).

I went to Dr. Richards for a disclocated finger. He convinced me to have surgery on my finger and now my finger is way worse than if I had just left it alone. I was not planning on having surgery on my finger but he assured me that he could fix it and that it was a basic procedure. It has now been a year since the surgery and I cannot move my finger and it hurts more now than in the past. Please do not use this doctor! You will regret it.
