Dr. Sae Ryoung Song, MD

Although I've just begun with you I liked it. I don't want interference from family that never comes around. They don't know my likes,etc. Thank you

I moved to FL a couple years ago and had to find a new doctor. My primary care Dr. didn't know of anyone else but Dr. Song that was close and reccomended that I go to someone else much further away. Since I have been on the same medication for depression and ADD for years I thought the switch wouldn't be a big deal, but boy was I wrong! I went out of convenience for a year and a half, each appointment lasted 5 min, but I was charged $80 every month. Every other doctor I have been to for these medications at most reviewed with me quaterly. I questioned this upfront, and I was told it's because she was a "responsible doctor" and wanted to review with me monthly. I thought okay maybe she will give me some good counseling or something, but she asked me the same 3 questions, in the same order, and spent literally 5 minuets with me. I recently had to reschedule a couple of appointments for various reasons over the last three months and was called by a member of her staff informing me… that I am no longer allowed to see her. Thank you Dr. Song for giving me the push to find a much better doctor!

Dr. Song asked me the SAME questions everytime I saw her... About where I work, my marriage, do I have kids, ect. She only spent MAYBE 5 minutes with me, if that. But this is what bothered me the most, I was in the hospital and I called Sharon (the receptionest) for my records... And she said "you haven't been here in 2 months, you're not a patient here. We don't have to send anyone records." I was extremely polite to her. I could go on and on. I would NEVER recommend her

Like some of the other reviewers on here, I have felt the same way.. I've had household duties I've enjoyed far better than going for an office visit. The waiting room area looks so outdated. I never felt like she completely understood me. All she(& her staff)cared about was getting my money & that was it. Having a scheduled app't with her & arriving on time for every visit meant that I sat in the waiting room much longer than actually speaking to her. When I would finally get to talking to her, she would ask me the same questions that she had asked me on prior visits. On a few occasions, she would discourage me from continuing the use of the medication(cutting down on the dosage amount)& reluctantly filling out the slip for me. All those appts I had with her, I've always dreaded them & every time I left her office all those times, I felt worse than before I even got there. Due to serious financial problems, I wasn't in the financial state to visit her every few months like she wanted… me to but I requested to see her every 6 months instead--well she wouldn't hear of that! All I got was some stupid excuse from her & because of her callous attitude, she has officially lost a patient...

My Experience with this office was one of something I will never forget, I had never been exposed to such an unpleasant cold uncaring atmosphere, This doctor should not be allowed to practice. First off , Upon first visit , this doctor was provided with my files from my other psychiatrists, I moved to the area of new port R. and was hoping I could find someone to help stable out my bi polar disorder, Upon going into her office, she did not even make eye contact with me, the staff was rude and upon every visit my appointment time apparently had no meaning, because I always had to wait at least 30 to 45 mins to see the doc. The Iceberg atmostphere this seemed to be the trend and a terrible bedside manner was always displayed upon me getting to her office in the back. She did not even look at my file of past medication, nor treatment, She asked what meds I was on, and then proceeded to just renew a perscription for me that i was currently on, when I was pleading to her that I did… not feel right, I was depressed and felt that the medication I was on was no longer working the way it once did, she did nothing to address this but write for refill, I was asking a bunch of questions about possibly changing to something more suitable yet could not get any questions anwsered. I then proceeded to tell her about my anxiety issues and that my medication did not seem to be keeping that at bay. She quickly wrote me a rx for xanax with 5 refills and said this will help, I returned many times, trying to find relief with the proper mediation for Bi polar disorder , expecting a different outcome , perhaps some listening to my concerns and problems i was experiencing, but each time, she proceeded to just have me try different Benzos , Valium, Klonopin, Etc....I was dumbfounded. The receptionist was HORRIBLE to me. She was extremely rude, and it seemed that the money aspect of this office was all that was the concern. I was hooked on medication by my 5th visit that was unhealthy for me, and ended up having to be detoxed off these benzos, that I had no idea would provide such a dependence on. This office should be shut down. I consider it a pill mill, and if there is somewhere I could report her I would. PLEASE DON'T MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THIS DOCTOR.

Dr. Song and her staff are the most unfriendly, uncaring, thoughtless people I have ever run into. The process of getting an appointment with Dr. Song is, alone, enough to drive you crazy. When you finally see Dr. Song, she is an emotionless as is humanly possible. I saw here for 2 years every month and she never even remembered my name from one appointment to the next. She cannot function without your file in front of her. She is a cold as an iceberg, and when you leave her office you feel like you've done something terribly, terribly wrong to have her treat you like she did. You dread your next appointment. She never asks how your meds are working; that is information you have to provide. With that, she has very limited resources for recommending alternative meds. She is a shame to her profession in dealing with mental health patients.

Dr Song is quite unpleasant to communicate with. But her staff is terribly uncaring and down right rude. You would think that a practice that deals with people who have emotional and psychological problems would hire kind and caring staff members. Dealing with these people will definitely turn a stressful day into a nightmare. I hope the dour Dr Song retires soon and finds herself a hobby that might actually make her smile and her staff would be a perfect fit for the unfriendly souls that work for Verizon. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS OFFICE IF YOU HAVE HAD A TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE AND ARE SEEKING HELP!

Wow! I don't understand why her other patients rated her with such poor scores. I have a great experience with Dr. Song. I have been with her for several years. Ok true, she can be a bit stand offish, but I like that she's honest and works with you. I feel comfortable with her. I have been with other doctors in the past who I feel awkward with and whom have severely misdiagnosed me. Take it from me, I highly recommend her. I bet the other raters are just hard to deal with in general!

I was a patient of Dr Song..what ever you do stay away the receptionist threatened me with bodily harm because i asked a question about my bill..They also performed provider medicare fraud and billed me for alot of money when medicare called me and told me i called them and told them they owed me a refund. They hung up on me and sent me a letter that they couldnt see me anymore because i asked them a question they also lied and Dr Song herself lied and said i kept refusing to see a therapist when the whole time i have been in therapy 3 times a week and 2 hours per session. I have a terminal illness and this is how they treated a sick person!! I couldnt believe it...I will never go there again and now i dont trust drs anymore which is sad because i used too.

Office staff are great,friendly professional. Scheduling follow-up appointments good. Waiting time no more than 10 minutes. Now Dr.Song is a different story,very cold, poor bedside manners. No eye contact does not show any emotions, I felt at every visit that I had with her, as if as if I were talking to a robot with the same old questions about the meds (just like the movie GroundHog day) Honestly the only reason I kept going back to her was for my medications that only psychiatrist are allowed to give to patients. Other wise I would have never returned to her office. I would never recommend her to anyone. I know that psychiatrist are to make sure the medications they prescribe are working well, but they need to be human(have some type of empathy) to gain the patients trust, and I can not say that about Dr Song.
