Dr. Salman Mughul Akbar, MD

Very rude! He presented with a harsh tone and over-talked me the entire time. He may know his profession, but he lacks professional and social skills.

This doctor is helpful, kind, and efficient. Dr. Akbar is compassionate and cares about you as a patient. Considerate doctor who will review your problems and help you the best way he can. He will try to figure out what's best for you. I appreciate Dr. Akbar and would recommend him.

Dr Akbar is the best physician I have ever had. He spends a lot of time with his patients. He sees his patients quickly. He prescribes the right amount of medication.

This doctor was chosen based on doctors in my area available to see my husband quickly. The worst mistake ever!!! He was terrible, the front desk & nurses were wonderful though. This was visit number 2 for my husband, he needed a referral to continue to see his neurologist outside of our network. As soon as Dr. Akbar came in the room he was rude. He never said hello or introduced himself to my husband or myself. Once he went over his blood work & recommended meds for low vitamin D, the insults started flying! I've never been to a doctor's office that had notices taped to the wall about sustaining from profanity. I quickly seen why. After telling my husband that he would do the referral but kept repeating "I can't write u any prescription" ! He was yelling over top of my husband who'd asked why he was talking that way. He said "I don't like people who are on narcotics!" My husband just had 6hr back surgery & left with 2cages on his spine. I assured him that my husband's neurologist was… closely monitoring him & that he didn't need to worry about writing him anything for pain it was already taken care of. He was so rude & flat out called my husband a "junkie"! He's incapable of empathy & that's sad for anyone in the medical field. I'll never take my husband back to this man! I'm not sure what kind of people he's use to seeing but one thing for sure, if you have chronic pain he's NOT the one to go to!!! His nurses were like "don't worry about him " "HE is like that " they were oblivious to his behavior, like he often treats people that way. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone & wouldn't even trust him to treat my dog!! Btw his office is on hioaks rd. No wonder he's always accepting new patients, they leave & never come back after meeting him. Dr. Akbar absolutely has no idea of how to speak with people.
