Dr. Sammy Lane Cox, MD

I was hospitalized in 2011 for internal bleeding caused by ulcers from Plavix. He was with the Dr. that was going to scope me for bleeding. He said when I get this bleeding issue resolved "you might should come see me because you have a very interesting EKG". I did, he performed stress test and did a heart cath. That day he came into my room and told my wife if we had a surgeon as I needed one immediately. I had, the next morning, a quadruple bypass, the surgeon said I was alive only because my heart had made it's own bypass.. He listens, answers all questions, has an eclectic sense of humor which I do also. Wait times have never been over 45 minutes from arrival to seeing him usually less than 20 minutes... He is conservative about procedures which is a good thing. I highly recommend Dr. Cox..

Dr. Cox has been my cardiologist beginning when he was still on staff at Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic. He has stinted me on two occasions and implanted a Pace Maker in my upper chest. I give him credit for saving my life. He has always been friendly and courteous to my wife and I on ever visit. His nurses and staff do their jobs professionally. They are courteous, caring, and friendly. I will continuing going to Dr. Cox, if possible, until he retires.

Excellent cardiologist! Stinted me twice and inserted a pacemaker in my upper chest wall. Has always been courteous and friendly to my wife and I. I highly recommend Dr. Cox if you are suffering from heart problems. His nurses and staff have always been courteous and helpful.

When another Amarillo cardiologist blew my problems off as just another hypochondriac I asked my primary doctor to recommend another heart doctor. He sent me to Dr. Cox and Dr. Cox said he would find out what was causing my problem. He nailed it right off and I have had my pacemaker for about 4 years now and no more problems. He's the best!!!

Dr. Cox, the nurses and techs were all great, the front office staff was NOT! The front office people were rude and wouldn’t listen. Dr Cox listened to me and answered all my questions fully.

I had 4 bypass surgeries and was sent home with a list of medications and I cannot contact anyone over the weekend when I need it

Wouldn't listen. Insisted on doing things HIS way, even though I was having horrible side effects from the medications. More interested in making jokes with nurse than paying attention during stress test. Holter Monitor was a waste of time because he insisted nothing at all showed up when it was obvious it was going on. Near legal actions.
