Dr. Samuel David Patrick Mcelroy, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Sam McElroy for several years and previously appreciated his care. However, I can no longer recommend him as a primary care provider. Over the past month, the communication and responsiveness of care from his office has drastically deteriorated. Most alarming is Dr. McElroy's refusal to take my symptoms and medical history seriously. After seeing an allergist who identified borderline autoimmune results, I asked Dr. McElroy to order additional bloodwork during my annual physical. He flat-out refused—despite knowing I am a two-time cancer survivor with a family history of lupus and a mother who was misdiagnosed until she was found to have a terminal brain tumor. I take my health seriously because I’ve lived through what happens when doctors are dismissive. I expected my primary care physician to be a partner in proactive healthcare—not an obstacle. Dr. McElroy’s indifference has cost him my trust, and potentially, patients like me who value early… intervention.

Doctor McElroy has overseen my healthcare for the past six years, and I absolutely adore him and his staff. They are always very friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and prompt. I happen to have multiple chronic illnesses that require the attention of several doctors at a time, and Dr McElroy has always been my personal favorite, just for how intelligent, warm, and optimistic he is. He takes the time to review the issues that have been addressed by other doctors, and oversee how it fits into my overall health and care. He takes the time to explain how things work to me so that I'm not jumping into treatments blindly, I actively understand how things function, and am better able to use that information to make informed decisions. I just had my very last appointment with Dr McElroy, as I'm moving across the country, and my only fear is that I'll never find another primary care physician like him.

Dr. M Elroy as my other Drs at Memorial are concerned, involved, communicate all information to you and to one another. This is a great group of concerned Drs.

A patient for five years. Every routine visit is an exam. The few times I had an appointment for a specific problem, a thorough exam. Med Tech, Alesha is also great, most pain free injections! Their on-line My Chart works well, they answer emails promptly.

His PA, Eric, is also very good!
