Dr Shukla is a very caring, professional and knowledgeable physician/surgery. I can’t recommend a more qualified doctor.

My experience with Dr. Shukla and the entire staff at ROC has been nothing short of excellent. Dr. Shukla specifically has been kind, caring, compassionate, and professional each time I’ve seen him. ROC runs a pretty tight ship, so my exposure to Dr. Shukla has been minimal, even though he performed a complete knee replacement on my left leg. Ha! Speaking of which, I’m only a 1.5 weeks out from surgery, but am more than happy with the entire process. My first visit with Dr. Shukla happened after being referred to him by MANY people. I was not disappointed after our first meeting. My husband, who spoke with Dr. Shukla immediately post-op, was very comfortable with the information he was provided following surgery. On my 1-week follow-up visit with the doctor, we enjoyed a review of the before & after photos, my ability to bend my knee (at 106 degrees just one week out of surgery!!) and started plans for replacing the right knee as well. I appreciate Dr. Shukla’s no-nonsense… explanations and his time. I have never felt rushed or made to believe I’m asking silly questions. And on the plus side, Dr. Shukla has a good sense of humor too. As you might have guessed, I’m joining the Shukla Advertising Team as well…sharing his name far and wide. ;)

I had my hips replaced by Dr. Shukla and it was a horrible experience! In September 2020 I had my right hip replacement. I was never told the side effects of having this procedure done. After he replaced my right hip my legs were uneven! When I went back for my follow up appointment he told me I needed my left hip replaced and would even up my legs. In January 2021 I had my left hip replacement. When I was in recovery the nurse said to Dr. Shukla that my foot dropped after surgery! He replied that’s not uncommon! He never explained anything about it. His office assistant told me they dropped the ball and never told me about the boot for my dropped foot therapy . My dropped foot has been the worst thing ever! I had to rehabil all my toes feet and ankle. The nerve pain was unbelievable! I had to wear the boot to bed for 9 months. When I went back for my follow up appointment he said I needed to see a back doctor for the nerve pain. I told him that he referred me to the back specialist… and he asked me who? Really you sent me to the back doctor and don't know his name. He did not look at my chart.I had a MRI done and I was full of water. He would not tell me that he tramatized my veins and vessles in my leg and gave me lifetime lyphadema. Now for a hour a day for the rest of my life I need to use a compression pump! He ruined my lymp system from day one and it took me a year and half to finally get the proper treatment because Dr Shukla would not advise me on what to do.He said come back in a year really! Don’t worry Dr. Shukla I will never go back to you again. So if you need your hips replaced asked the questions and DO NOT GO To Dr. Shukla he was UNCARING and UNPROFESSIONAL! My foot and leg is still numb and I still have a dropped foot after a year and my leg is still swollen! This surgery has been very expensive with all the other treatments for my foot and leg.My life was mad worse FOREVER! I was contacted by ROC client experience after I told Angel Change about my experience she spoke to her supervisiors and all they had to say is I spoke to DR Shukla and if you make a appointment he is willing to talk to me REALLY! Dr Skula was dishonest I asked him about doing a front hip replacement and he said that if they were complications he could not do it. He knew I had lymphedema after I got a MRI and was full of water and never told me what I had. Everything was I don't know. You are supposed to be able to trust you doctor! Dr Shukla is about how many surgerys he can cash in on and not about client care! Dr Shukla is all about the cash and not about your care.

Dr Shukla was very personable and made my surgery a comfortable experience. I did not have staples or stitches that had to be removed and I’m very pleased with my outcome. 7 days post surgery of a total knee replacement I had 97 degrees flexion and 0 degree extension. I feel a lot of that has to do with my surgery. I’m also very pleased with my PT at Active Physical Thearpy.

I went to ROC and it was a horrible life changing experience . I had hip replacement surgery from DR. SHUKLA terrible. He first repaced my right hip and made my lesgs uneven! He told me I needed to do my left hip to even my legs and because of artritis. I would of waited but did not want to have one leg longer than the other so I agreed. During the surgery he droped my foot 29 degrees the nurse said after and he said it was not uncommon! Now from the trama I have permanent lymphdema and have to use a compression pump for the rest of my life! It has taken 18 months to move my foot 25 degrees and it is still not normal not to mention the numb calf and foot! He or his staff never told me about any side effects and no help or advice to how to make it better, his answer was I don't know and shruged his shoulders. Never once did he say let me find out what we can do. This has been a life challenging experence. I can not ski or go on long hikes anymore. I was supposed to get better and he… made me worse. Beware when they tell you it takes a year to recover! They tell you this so are not in the timeline of the law. So ask about the sides effects of surgery. If you have a problem and they don't give you help or damage seek a laywer right away. Dr SHUKLA is unprofesional and uncapassionate man. Don't make this mistake find a better surgeon.

I am 51 years old and never dreamed I would be going in for a total hip replacement at this age. Dr. Shukla was fantastic. After an xray and a discussion, I was ready for the surgery NOW! The staff at the Reno site were so wonderful, they got me right in and done. During this crazy pandemic situation we are all living in, the Reno staff were professional, caring and mindful of the fears of their patients. Limping into a surgical ward by yourself can be a bit intimidating but the nurses treated me like family and had me completely calm. Four hours later I was on my way home and in less pain than I have been in for years. Dr. Shukla's "mini posterior" technique has given me the shortest recovery time I could even imagine. Thank you so much!

Maybe he was having a bad day but no compassion or care for my 82 year old mom who has been suffering in chronic pain for over a year! Very condescending and disrespectful. Hope he treats his own mother better! Very disheartening because we were referred to him but we were treated like we were a total waste of his time.

Dr. Shukla replaced both of my hips within a year. I have dysplasia, so it wasn't an easy job. I came out with even leg length for the first time in my life. Now I can walk, hike, do yoga, cross country ski, and dance again! I have no pain and am stronger and more balanced than I was before. It is truly a miracle. He is kind, compassionate, and honest. His assistant, Davis is excellent and does remarkable plastic surgery stitching! The PTs at Reno Orthopedic Clinic were also awesome!
