Dr. Sanjay Rao, MD

From making my appointment to walking into the office, Staff was very friendly and very attentive. Dr. Rao was very detailed and wonderful bed-side manner.

Had LASIK with Dr Rao last year and my vision has been amazing!!!

Dr. Rao, and all associated staff, are the consummate health care professionals. Upon entering the lobby area of the office, patients are greeted with a friendly hello, handed a clipboard of pages to be read and signed off, and told to wait a few minutes before being called into a room for prep or testing. True to their word, it is only a few minutes until eye tests/ measurements are taken. Dr. Rao follows up in short order, discusses your individual issues, and asks if you have any questions. He does not rush through his explanations or your responses or questions. I had cataract surgery and specialized lens implants a few years ago, and have been very pleased with my results. I highly recommend scheduling a visit with Dr. Rao to anyone considering cataract surgery or lens implants.

I came to DR. Sanjay Rao for a stye in my eye that would not go away. My first impression of Dr Rao was he was very rushed and very RUDE! He of course makes you sign a release so when he does completely ruin your eye there is nothing you can do about it. So lets start with the procedure, I've been injured plenty of times so I've been given plenty of shots in the past to numb my pain before stitches or a procedure like this. They typically inject you with a small amount let that settle than inject you with more as it's numbed more. What this doctor did was inject me with the smallest amount and no hesitation later forcefully injected my eye of all places with a huge syringe full so much so I almost completely passed out from the huge rush of pain I had. If was so forceful and painful what he did we had to stop for a good 5 minutes just so I didn't completely pass out in the chair. So after I regained my consciousness he began the procedure. He put a slit in my eye and very… aggressively started I guess cleaning out my eye which felt more like a complete beating of the inside of my eye. Even having this much numb injected in my eye I felt such a bad burning in my eye to the point I couldn't even leave the office by myself. The doctor even made the comment I'm really impressed you handled that so well. I'm in sales and I personally speak with hundreds of people a day. Body language is like a 2nd language to me and this doctor PURPOSELY did this to me. My eye is permanently damaged. My eye looks worse than it did before he did my procedure. My eye is so badly scarred from what he did that it looks like I have a permanent stye in my eye. I truly in my heart believe this man did this on purpose to me. His body language the whole time he was with me was very bad and now I'm left looking like this. This man should be in jail for what he did to me and I strongly request no one EVER come to see this man.

great experience with Dr Rao. Was recommended by a colleague. He diagnosed me with a recurrent infection and fixed the problem. Will definitely be back.

Wanted to relate a wonderful LASIK experience with Dr. Rao. The consult process was very informative and thorough. I went through several tests including a topography (shape map of the cornea), pachymetry (thickness of the cornea), refraction, and dilation. I also watched a video which explained the technology that the practice uses. Dr. Rao then reviewed all the testing and answered all my questions. I scheduled LASIK 3 weeks later and was pleasantly surprised at how efficient everything was. The whole procedure took about 20 minutes. Except for some minor pressure during the surgery, there was no pain. The valium I was given beforehand definitely helped! The next day I was seeing significantly better but the vision fluctuated for about 1 week. I can't believe I waited this long to have LASIK. Best thing I have ever done. Thanks Dr. Rao!

Dr. Rao seems very professionsl but has a sort of cold persona. And the staff was curt and not very friendly--the only exception being the front desk where they were quite nice. But the doctor and his assistant were not friendly. I'm still having issues with my eye four months later, so I'm not sure I trust his diagnosis either. Heading for a second opinion next week.
