Dr. Savitha Balakrishn Kalya

I have been seeing Dr. Savitha Kalya for about 18 months. She has my vote for Rheumatologist of the Year! She not only correctly diagnosed my specific problem but prescribed a wonder drug which helped 100%. Dr. Kalya always explains medical things in a way the layperson can easily understand. She has given special attention to me and treats the patient as a whole. Dr. Kalya is never in a rush to see the next patient but manages to stay on a schedule which has me waiting less than five minutes. I don't know what I would have done without her professional help!

It has been a few years since I saw Kalya, but I have seen no other care provider for my debilitating conditions since then because it was such a traumatizing experience... I'm just now on the hunt again. There were so many concerning factors about this practice, but the worst point ws when she raised her voice in an angry tirade, very close to my face, when I wanted to ask questions about the potential harms of the drug she prescribed. I had already discussed the drug at length with the pharmacist and had valid concerns... Which I never got to share with the doctor because I felt the urgent need to escape her attack. She does much harm with her impersonal, narrow-minded, egotistical approach to disease diagnosis and management.

Dr. Kalya is an exemplar of the lackadaisical and dismissive treatment that drives so many from proper care. The assessment felt incomplete and the Dr did ZERO functional testing. I wasn't given adequate opportunity to share all relevant medical history and was rushed out the door after the assesment started over 30 minutes late. Took 3 months to get this appointment and I left in a worse state than I arrived. Seems rather anti-hippocratic to be belittled for hurting. I need to find a rheumatologist/clinic that actually wants to help.

I was pleased with Dr. Kalya's accurate diagnosis of my medical condition, as a result of her listening to me closely and considering all symptoms and having only necessary tests completed. I do not like the long waits in the office, but I just plan to sit for awhile when I go and consider it a small annoyance to see a knowledgable doctor.

It was necessary to remind the doctor of her previous test requests and the results. Way too many other patients! You're lucky to get 5 minutes with her - she speeds thru and looks at her laptop most of these short sessions.

DR KAYLA SAVITHA IS UNCARING AND JUST WANTS TO GIVE YOU PRESCRIPTIONS. SHE IS VERY HIGH MAINTENANCE AND SHE ALWAYS IN A RUSH. THE OFFICE IS CONFUSED AND CAN'T EVEN KEEP APPOINTMENTS ACCURATE! PLEASE LOOK FOR ANOTHER DOCTOR, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE DOCTOR AND THE OFFICE STAFF!

Where do I begin!? Attempted to make an appointment 4 times. Their phone system is terrible. You are on hold for so long that I nearly gave up, but Valley Arthritis is on my insurance plan. The staff seems very quiet. Now I think I know why. The doctor is so controlling that I sense they fear her. The c omments I have read on here are very accurate. I swear this doctor takes up 95% of your office visit that you pay for to bill you. She has her nose in the laptop she carries around from the time she comes into the room until well after she leaves. And, don't even think about asking any questions. Seriously, she will raise her voice, get into your face and talk right over you. One would think she would be interested in looking at your hands, possibly even touching them and taking a picture to monitor the progression of your disease. Aside from confirming I have osteoarthritis, I learned as much if not more by researching the disease online. I will not go back to her for… followup. One good thing, you are in and out of the office because she truly does not give you the time of day!! Regretably, she will get paid, and I am still stressed over the entire ordeal.
