I started seeing Dr Bay following my open heart surgery when I realized I was suffering from post heart surgery depression. After the only in person visit he would see me virtually. I always found it unusual when one of his staff would contact me ahead of the visit collect my credit card info for my copay. Not once did they offer to bill my insurance. Regardless, his virtual appointments did almost nothing to help my depression. He only made one slight modification of my medication which hasnt helped. Finally, last week I was unexpectedly called out of town for business the day before my virtual appointment and didn’t recall til early that morning in which I left a VM. His staff called stating that I would be assessed a no-show fee of $125. He stated this was the 2nd time it happened, which I distinctly recall happening but could have sworn I gave him notice ahead of time. When I objected they tried to book me later in the day, in which I told them I wouldn’t be able to… accommodate due to my business meetings. Sure enough at 340pm my phone chirped indicating he wasn’t attempting to start a virtual appointment, which I unfortunately wasn’t able to attend. Then two business days later his no-show bill (today) arrived to my house. What’s particularly upsetting is that about 2 months ago my heart stopped while I was sleeping due to A.V block, a side effect of my open heart surgery. I underwent an emergency pacemaker surgery, which set me back in my depression. In my last session with Dr Bay we discussed this and how it impacted my overall mental well being. He knew that I was in a really difficult state of mind. He apparently was more concerned about my no-show and making sure he collected my $125. I will pay that because I signed his up front agreements saying I would. Well Dr Bay …. You won the battle, but you lost the war. Not only will I no longer see you, but I will let my cardiologist who referred me to you know of your unfortunate and aggressive policies.

I was rejected over the phone by his "office manager", told that he didn't feel my medical or mental issues were a "good fit" for his help. Who does that? Would not recommend this man for anyone's mental well being.

I was with bay a long long time. I stayed cause I was young and stupid. He nvr cared about me or my problems, just the bottom dollar. And when I needed him the most, he turned me away. He is self centered and greedy. Beware.

Excellent psychiatrist very poor office staff

Dr. Bay was demeaning and didn’t care to listen to what I had to say. When you confide in a Dr. you would hope that your very private information would be handled respectfully. Dr. Bay was self-righteous and made me feel like my feelings didn’t matter. If you have any self respect, don’t put yourself under his care. In addition, his staff is cold and shares your records freely with other professionals.

Excellent doctor & patient advocate, offering positive healing choices while basing recommendations on each individual patient. I have personally found him to be understanding while I have offered many hesitations for RX medications potentially too strong, as a Mom desiring to balance my life while caring for my children, ensuring the kidsâ?? safety first. Dr Bay has remained a highly effective Psychiatrist these past years, continuing to go the extra mile, while ensuring we are each treated by our separate medical needs, concerns, as well as individual timings. When I was first extremely worried about taking RX & the personas of doing so, Dr Bay has proven himself to be extremely patient and effective these past years with my diagnosed high anxiety and PTSD related medical issues. Highly recommend A+++++ Doctor! I have also seen how wonderful Joan & Marina have been, assisting Dr Bay in his office. Thanks young ladies!

I have gone to psych dr's for 15 years.. I started seeing Dr. Scott Bay ,2010, saved my life!!!! Only doctor who worked with me and correctly diagnosised me and correct meds and follow up!!!!!

Incompetent collection agency - do not divulge personal issues to this office as they will most likely use it to make you feel horrible. Realize that miscommunication happens and that you're dealing with human beings.

I live overseas and the doctor was well aware of this. I had paid my bills promptly for the last 3 years. My last bill was unpaid but I never received it. The doctor dropped me as a patient even though I settled the bill immediately upon being informed of such. Certainly it's legal for the doctor to do that -- but seems unethical for a "behavioral health" doctor to have such callous and un-compassionate policies. His receptionist is very unfriendly and unprofessional.
