Dr. Scott Kiyoshi Tanaka, MD

Dr. Tanaka is an excellent physician with deep expertise in his orthopedic specialty. He’s patient and understanding and takes the time you need to explain his findings and treatment options. I also appreciate his conservative approach when it comes to surgery.

Dr Tanaka is very nice, and knowledgeable. The support staff is very nice as well. I do feel like the office is very busy which is a good thing but maybe a little overwhelming for the support staff. I've also had a few appointments that the wait time was a little long, but not too bad. Thank you to all of you.

Dr. was great and he ruled out carpal tunnel. At least now I know it’s a nerve issue. My only complaint was the receptionist in the pink sweater. Customer Service training needs to be taught to her again. I didn’t get a Hello or eye contact. Also, she didn’t even ask me to walked up to the window, she was talking to me and I was standing by the hand sanitizer machine.. unacceptable behavior. The visit with Dr Tanaka was great. My condition has improved better than I believed it would. Dr Tanaka was genuinely happy for me (as usual).

He was veer nice and easy too talk too. He was very thorough when he explained what was going on. He made sure I had all choices and he helped me an informed decision.

Dr.Tanaka is very good. I have been to him several times. My only complaint is the wait time usually between 45min to 1 hr from actual appointment time

I first met Dr. Tanaka in 2018. When my right shoulder was causing constant pain even upon rest and nothing seemed to stop. He scheduled a reverse shoulder replacement on my right side that was done in January 2019. He just promised me that he could reduce my pain he didn’t think Because of the severity of the of the damage and my age 78 that he can do anything more than that. To both his and my amazement, I was able to get 90% range of motion and no pain. At the beginning of 2024 I began having the same problem with my left shoulder. We then scheduled for April 25, 2024 my reverse replacement of my left shoulder. again, no promises were made about pain relief for range of motion or strength for that matter. Today exactly one year later I have full range of motion of both my shoulders. I have no pain at all in either one of my joints and I have probably 85 to 90% of my strength back. I can function completely in my home dressing, taking care of myself riding my tricycle and doing all… the things I wanted to be able to do. He’s compassionate. listens to me as a patient and a person and for me without the surgery, I would be in a very dependent place. I turned 84 this summer and I hope to be able to continue to live alone and function in all of my daily adventures thanks to Dr. Tanaka.
