Dr. Shahzad Maqbool Hashmi, MD

He actually lundged at me putting his face very near my face and yelled at me! This happened after spending only a few minutes speaking with me. He then looked at his student nurse and arrogantly said, “where did she come from!?” It was unbelievable!!! Please don’t see this doctor. He’s truly borderline criminal.

I spent 10 minutes have vitals taken by two medical students before Dr. Hashmi entered. We discussed symptoms and treatments that sounded fine. A quick swab was taken from my cheek with little explanation. three days into the medication I had severe symptoms and called to see what my course of action should be. The person answering the phone said the Dr. would call me back. This happened over the next two days and I still have yet to hear from the Dr. I ceased taking the medication and the symptoms have gone away, and I cancelled the next appointment. I have since received a $350.00 bill from Genesight for genetic testing performed (i guess the swab) and as I signed the typical office paperwork I am now bound to pay. Horrible lack of response and insurance grab from what I can see. He is welcome to call me to discuss but my bet is "he is too busy" unless I pay the co-pay and set up another office visit!

Dr. Hashmi entered the examining room, stood beside the door, and pronounced our highly functional autistic son to be, "not intelligent" enough to understand what was happening. He said our son was "not like normal people." He interrupted his own nurse practitioner mid-sentance and immediately left the room after saying, "Give him Klonopin." Our son is intelligent and a gifted artist with work in galleries in France, New York, and Atlanta. This is the absolute worst doctor we have ever had. He should be put out of practice. He left the room no longer than one minute after entering it.

If possible, please find another psychiatrist. I am sure Dr. Hashmi is a good doctor, but he spread way too thin!!! He is rarely in the office and you can tell he is tired (constant yawning and rubbing his eyes). You're forced to see him over a program like Skype, which is really just unacceptable. It rarely works properly, and I'm afraid he isn't hearing everything I was saying. Potentially a very dangerous situation. Find someone who can listen to you properly face-to-face.

Dr. Hashmi is very knowledgeable and professional. He takes time with his patients, giving an accurate assessment of your symptoms. I have recommended him numerous times and will continue to be a patient.

Dr Hashmi is good, but he farted in the exam room.

I was treated by Dr. Hashmi for several years in which I was given medicine and given orders for ECT. The purpose was for control and compliance. I have since avoided this doctor and advise everyone I encounter looking for a psychiatrist to do the same. I am now a college student with a 4.0 and a single mother.I am driving and taking care of my child, my elderly parent and myself. While I was under Dr. Hashmi's care he told me I would never be capable of ANY of these things. He is not a compassionate man. He held back my life. Please protect yourself and go to someone who can encourage growth.
