Dr. Shu-Man Fu, MD

Dr. Fu comes in the door seeking to help you. He and his team are incredibly thorough, and he “sees and hears” even what you do not say. This man has seen everything, and you can tell he wants to help you feel better.

This doctor appeared 2 hrs. past my appointment time. He seemed only interested in "diagnosing" fibromyalgia, which is, at best, just a collection of symptoms of other conditions. He didn't discuss this intention, just started squeezing and pressing on joints with a lot of pressure. I think I could make him say "ouch" a few times if I did the same to him. Would he then be "diagnosed" with fibromyalgia?

Dr. Shuman Fu is a significant asset to UVA. His knowledge, bedside manner, sense of humor, and concern for the patients well-being is outstanding. He should be commended for his dedication and the many contributions he makes to many people's lives. Not just the patients, but their families and friends lives are impacted in a very positive way. His lupus research is greatly needed and appreciated.

This man is not a good doctor. He could not figure out what was wrong with me. He does not really seem to care. He was not interested in putting forth effort to figure out what was wrong with me and help me get better.
