Dr. Shyam Kishan, MD

We went to Dr. Kishan as a second opinion from a different Dr. for our 16 month old son's Scoliosis. He spent 45 min just fully explaining our son's issue and what he would recommend for treatment. He took the paper on the exam table and wrote everything he said on it as well to make sure we understood and had good notes. So our son needed an upper body cast (METHA) and is in our first round. He even called on a Saturday on his personal time to make sure our son was doing well. He is very caring and glad we made the switch!

My son was diagnosed with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis at age 16. We were referred to Riley and chose Dr Kishan from the Riley website, and so glad we did! My husband, son and I all felt very comfortable and trusted him immediately. He was very knowledgeable and explained the surgery, recovery and expectations very clearly. Follow up care was outstanding as well. I would highly recommend him for his compassion and expertise, wonderful bedside manner too!

If I could give him negative stars I would!!! I took my 18 month daughter to see him because she couldn't walk. He spoke with me for no more than 5 minutes tops. He did not want to see what it looks like when she tried to walk. If he did he would of realized the couldn't straighten her leg. He treated me like I was a idiot; like I had no idea what I was talking about! I got charged $200 dollars after insurance, when he didn't even do anything. I went and got a second opinion from Dr. Didelot from St. Francis ( he is amazing I HIGHLY recommend him). Come to find out my daughter needs physical therapy and wear a brace 24/7. And if that doesn't work surgery. So I'm telling you DO NOT go to Dr. Kishan he is awful and will make you feel like an idiot!

Dr. Kishan is a fantastic human being. He went above and beyond to spend as much time necessary to fully explain the options and all the potential outcomes, both good and bad. I feel confident that Dr. Kishan provides the best care possible. I would give him the highest recommendation possible and credit him with the best communication skills and depth of knowledge of any doctor I have had personal experience with.

We LOVE Dr. Kishan!!! My son had a severe football injury in which required multiple surgeries. Dr. Kishan did an amazing job putting him back together. He is an amazing surgeon , extremely talented, very professional, and most of all has the BEST bedside personality. He explains everything in detail and spends a lot of time with you. He makes you feel very comfortable also. He genuinely cares about his patients and establishes a relationship with them. My son loves him and fully trusts him 100%. Dr. Kishan helped reassure us and understand a very scary time and make us as comfortable as possible. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kishan. Top rated suregeon as well as a down to earth person!!! Thank you Dr.Kishan for all you have done for our son. Just one surgery left!

As a long time Loma Linda employee and the parent of a patient of Dr Kishan. I can tell you that the nurses loved him because he cared for his patients and patients loved him because he just cared for them. He left for a better opportunity and was sorely missed by the staff at LLUMC.

We were referred to Dr Kishan through Riley's when my daughter was diagnosed with Scoliosis. When I found out that Riley's didn't do the Mehta casting until Dr. Kishan arrived that is when I knew we were truly blessed. When we met him for the first time, he immediately started talking and interacting with my daughter after introducing himself to myself and husband. She LOVES him. He was able to explain the issue, the options and his recommended plan going forward. He was very gentle and compassionate with us, since we were very shell shocked to find out the diagnosis. His nursing staff is very prompt and organized. They genuinly care about our issues. I would 100% recommend him to someone else. The simple fact that my daughter may never have to have invasive surgery is enough reason for me to rate him at 100%. Thank you Dr. Kishan.
