Dr. Silvi P Jantunen, PhD

Called her to try to schedule appt for my daughter for individual therapy. Poor attitude during entire conversation...it was like I was bothering her by having the audacity to ask her to make an appointment for my adolescent. Mentioned that a service offered by my employer had given me her information as a potential match for my child. First question I was asked was "What is that? Because there is some garbage out there that pays like $25 and I don't do that". I explained that it was going under private insurance. We began to talk time and location, and I was asked how close I was to her office. After explaining that I didn't care distance, I would drive wherever for my daughter's care, we continued. At this point, I'm asked point blank "Do you have a copay?". I explained that I usually bring the card and the office bills the visit under the proper service codes and the copayment it determined from that. At this point, she tells me that I need to call them because my ins is out of… state and they won't talk to her (I've NEVER heard this before). I then explained that I am in my deductible for my insurance. She immediately says "It will be $90." When I inquired how she would know the fee schedule in the deductible without my ID number or Group number, she says "I know my fee schedule". When I asked if she planned to submit a bill to my insurance, I receive a snappy reply that "Yes, but I need to be paid!". At that point, I told her that I would not be making an appointment with her, as I didn't feel comfortable with the situation as it was presenting itself. She was clearly more interested in being paid than helping my daughter in any way. Wow...just wow

Dr. Jantunen has been treating my 9 year old son for nearly six months of weekly visits. Prior to seeing Dr. Jantunen he was extremely disruptive, suspended from school multiple times, and was a danger to himself as well as others around him. The change in my son now is truly miraculous, he is doing well academically,happy in school, and back to being the loving little boy I’ve always known. Dr. Silvi Jantunen is a marvelous psychologist. I wholeheartedly recommend her.

Continuously looked at cell phone during visit. Would not submit health claim. Left diagnosis off invoice, still struggling to get proper form from dr. to submit for reimbursement. Would never recommend.

I went for personal/marital counseling. Dr. Jantunen was instrumental in identifying things from a previous relationship that were destroying my current one. She was kind but firm and help het my life back on track.
