He brought my parents to test my loyalty, assigned me mental illness, and gave me the choice to accept mental illness. Dr. Stanley is handy and athletic, nothing. He has never seen a Disney princess movie. He uses magic to scare little boys and young men into submission to force psychotic pills when pills are not the answer. Pills are good for nothing. His magic consists of placing an object in a room for him to find it and proving that a young person can repeat a long set of numbers. This two-set magic trick is what he uses to prove a young man or child has insanity. He doesn't watch sports, so he is addicted to pornography. Boomers gloss over problems, meaning they ignore problems. Baby Boomers miss the root causes, and they don't stop to think it over. For a shrink, find a young, highly positive review Dr.

It’s been years since I saw Dr. Fischman, but he did wonders for me as an adolescent with OCD. He was always kind and thorough, and he went above and beyond to make sure I got the best treatment possible. Dr. Fischman gave me a combination of talk therapy and medication that ultimately saved my life. I think about him often, and I hope he’s doing well.

I went to Dr.Fischman for severe anxiety when I was about 12 -13. I'm writing this because I came across his face in my search for a doctor. Seeing his face made my heart stop. Beware if you're female and young. I see now how unethical he was. From a psychotherapy standpoint he would often ignore my worries and respond with something like "oh he's an a__hole". He would frequently then follow up and call me "beautiful" in session. He did this multiple times. It made me feel dismissed, confused, and even hurt. The worst was he would touch my 12 year old knees and legs in a way that made me uncomfortable. At my young core I realized something didn't feel safe/good, so I brought my dad into a session. I got lucky. It took one session for my dad to see this "doctors" work ethic and approach. No touching legs that session, but the usual dismissive with a hint of narcissism. We left the room and down the hall my dad told me what I wanted to hear: "I get it. You're never going back". I think… Dr.Fischman's practice is incredibly unethical. And no, please do not touch my 12-13 year old legs and knees and tell my I'm beautiful when I am asking for anxiety management. At age 30 I see this now, and coupled with my degree as a therapist...I'm blown away by how many violations he's committed. He is not a safe person if you are female or vulnerable. Did more harm than good.

Dr. Fischman is saving my life-anorexia for 30 years and he approaches it with a medical viewpoint instead of throwing psychopharmacology at me. He’s respectful, kind, generous with time and knowledge. His treatment plan is factually scientifically based. Nothing has ever helped me before and I was suicidal. Dr Fischman’s humanitarian and scientific ways are bringing me back to life

It's been years since I had a few sessions with Dr. Fischman, who was sharing an office with my psychiatrist at the time. I saw him because my regular psychiatrist suspected I had an eating disorder. Dr. Fischman showed me a LOT of client pictures and made comments on their before & after bodies. He did not use names, but he still showed me pictures of his clients. Even if they weren't current clients, I think this is a huge ethics breach! I hope he doesn't still do this.

Leaves no stone unturned when it comes to diagnosing if issues/disorder is complicated/pervasive. Won't give up, and supportive of patient especially when GPs are abrasive or dismissive.

I was sent to Stanley Fischman as a troubled young girl with a horrible eating disorder. Turned out this doctor likes to take advantage of the abused and call it *therapy*. Added more damage to an already damaged innocent soul. Fair warning.

I first saw Dr. Fischman years ago for depression and an eating disorder. He helped me tremendously and did wonders for my self esteem. It went beyond therapy to vital medical education about the hows and whys of depression and what I needed to do to treat it. He helped me understand that I wasn't a bad or selfish kid but that I needed real medical treatment, and that there was real hope for my life. I live in another part of the country now but I think of him often and hope he's still practicing.
