Dr. Stephen Daryl Samuelson, MD

Worst, most rude psychiatrist I've ever seen, and I've seen 8 psychiatrists for the same issue.

Dr. Samuelson is ok.......he's a very nice, calm man but I didn't feel like he really listened very well to my daughter's ongoing problems. just kept throwing different drugs at the situation. Just not sure he was a good match for us but he seemed like a genuinely good person. On another note...........his office staff...........so awful. You would think in an office dealing with people with mental illness you could get something other than rudeness, shortness and unhelpfulness but not in this office. Last point wait time is awful.........even if your appt. is at 8AM you wait at least 30 min.........for a 10-15 min appt.

My DS daughter has seen Samuelson for the past 2 years for OCD/anxiety & depression. He has her on a cocktail of drugs. I took my daughter out East to be evaluated at a highly renown disabilities clinic & the doctor she saw was not in favor of what Samuelson has my her on. I presented this list to Samuelson & he snuffed his nose at it stating that this clinic is just a research facility & that this worldwide renown Doctor within the Ds community doesn't know what he's talking about. My daughter's lab results proved differently & that some of the drugs have caused her to have a dangerously high prolactin level. So he takes her off the one drug that is probably the main cause & places her on another. As my daughter's guardian I refused to allow the administration of the drug & asked that he do his research on this institute & doctor but instead he let his pompous arrogance get the better of him & has chosen to dismiss my daughter as his patient asking me to seek out a 2 nd opinion. Well… my 31 year old daughter has seen 4-5 psychiatrists since middle school & a 2nd opinion isn't going to resolve the issue. My question to anyone who's a professional working with patients & you're uncertain with your diagnosis wouldn't you seek out the advice from someone who works with the special needs population on a daily basis? Don't waste your money!

Please save yourself the headache and heartache of visiting this "professional". I have NEVER encountered such an arrogant physician. He lacked even a hint of empathy and had no interest in working WITH me as a patient. In his mind, he was superior and I was an underling with nothing to contribute to my treatment.

Dr. Stephen Samuelson is very caring and takes time to accurately diagnose your needs.

Simply an excellent Psychiatrist. Extremely perceptive and an excellent diagnostician. I owe a re-discovery of my life thanks to his advice and understanding of medications.

Dr. Samuelson is an amazing doctor. I was in a bad place in my life and he pretty much, pulled me out of the PIT, I was in. Thank you, Doctor Samuelson for saving me.

Dr Samuelson saved my life. I was in a dark place and he got me on the right medication. He had the experience to not try to explain to me my diagnosis until after I was medicated. Once I was medicated and out of the dark place I was in, he took the time to explain to my why I had the diagnosis I had and not another one. If he didn't treat me the way he did I wouldn't have taken the medication and I may have ended my life. Between Dr Samuelson and my awesome therapist my life is back together and I am living again. He is an awesome doctor.
