Dr. Steven Leopold Hartford, MD

Do not go to this doctor the whole office is very rude and unprofessional ... they ran tests on me without my approval and ran a bill for 800 dollars claiming genetic testing is mandatory.. if you are pregnant do not go here they have no manners and or office skills.

I can’t compliment this doctor enough, or the staff! He was super informative, very kind and had amazing bedside manners... Going to the gyno’s office can be extremely uncomfortable, but Doctor Hartford really put my mind at ease!

It has been a long time since I have felt comfortable going to my annual well-woman exam. Until I found Dr. Hartford. Now I no longer dread the annual exams and am comfortable asking questions. Dr. Hartford is kind, gentle, a true professional, and provides excellent advice.

I have been going to Dr. Hartford for a bout 9 years. He delivered my second son. I was originally hesitant about having a male doctor as many of us women are and he squashed that feeling upon meeting him. He has always made me feel so comfortable. He is very professional and personal. Dr. Hartford is such a kind and genuine man. He has never once made me feel rushed regardless how busy the office is. I appreciate his authenticity and would not consider going to another doctor unless forced.

I've been seeing Dr. Hartford for 15+ years and would never consider seeing anyone else (I wish he could be my doctor for all my concerns - lol). He takes the time to answer any questions/concerns I have and if there are times when he is OBVIOUSLY booked for the day, it is also very OBVIOUS that he does his best in trying to address any questions/concerns I have. I also know that in a phone call, the time will be made. He's my hero because he HAS taken the time EVERY time, even when I once had to go in weekly and he pretty much saved my life thanks to his time and attention where another doctor had failed me due to their LACK of time and attention. His staff? What can I say? They are just as wonderful as he is - their concern always feels genuine and they pay enough attention to remember you the next time and not treat you as if you're on a rotation belt... He's my hero with his super hero friends. Simply stated.

Ive been seeing Dr. Hartford for more than 15 years now and would not consider seeing anyone else until he retires!. He sets the bar very high. He is very personable, down to earth, compassionate, gentle, and very knowledgeable. Its not only with him but with his staff as well. I always feel like I'm in capable, trustworthy hands. I've always felt at ease and comfortable with my visits. I highly recommend him.

I really like Dr. Hartford. He seems really busy some days, but he takes time to answer my questions if I have any. Some days seem better than others. Both my deliveries went very smooth with him. My 1st child had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck making a very dramatic entrance into the world, but the doctor and staff were really on top of things and he is a healthy 4 year old now. I also loved the nursing staff at Verdugo Hills Hospital. Very attentive and extremely nice.

Our son died due to an brain injury he suffered during birth because Steven Hartford did not do an emergency c-section in time. He came in after my wife was pushing for 4 hours and said that our son wont make it if we he does not get him out immediately with a suction cup because it the OR was not ready. I can't give negative reviews. Doctor is actively deleting my reviews, please let others know. Avoid this doctor at all cost.

Dr. Hartford was terrible at diagnosing me with my problem. In addition, he did not suggest that I seek a second opinion. He is over-confident in himself and his work, and therefore he does not look into other parts of your medical record to try and find the issue.

Other than the general long wait, cluttered office, and small and stuffy examination rooms. Dr. Hartford does not give the level of attention for each patient that one deserves. He is dismissive and does not spend more than 2 minutes with a patient, jumping from one exam room to another. I got the feeling that the #1 priority for him is making money and not providing care. He is also being sued by a patient whose baby died due to mismanagement of her pregnancy and labor by Dr. Hartford.
