Dr. Steven Michael Ruths, MD

Worst doctor ever. My son was inpatient at Vista Del Mar, my son has schizophrenia. My son received zero treatment (no meds at all). He discharged my son with no meds. He doesn’t care. My son was just a quick paycheck for him. If you want your loved one to be ok, do not allow this doctor to see your loved one.

I have much experience with Dr. Ruth professionally in the court process which led me to choose him years later as my personal psychiatrist over a vast array of psychiatrists in the area. He has shown an adeptness with medication that frankly other psychiatrists lack.

I have always had the best results with Dr Ruth’s the staff are very nice and the wait time isn’t long at all very good experience overall

He spends about 10 min if that with a patient. But yet most of his patients have to drive at least 25min just for that. It's crap.

This man should have his medical license pulled. He has a horrible bed side manner he refuses to look at you when he talks to you he likes to write prescriptions without even knowing what your history is he's just a bad doctor overall. I have worked for Vista Del Mar for years and non of the staff here have anything good to say about him hes just an a hole to say the least. I have seen him dope people up who didn't need the meds he was prescribing and I have also seen him discharge patients who were a threat to themselves and possibly others. I don't know why Vista keeps him on staff because he's a lawsuit waiting to happen..

Dr Ruth's works for Vista Del Mar and is the worst doctor I have ever met or come into contact with. He has a horrible attitude with staff and clients and doesn't belong working in a psych hospital where people are trying to get help. He is by far the worst doctor I've ever met or come into contact with.

The office staff is friendly, efficient, and they actually remember your name! I've been a patient for at least 10 years.

Freightening how little he cares about anything. No eye contact in total hurry. Makes sure you pay though. Stay away

Doesn't spend nearly any time with me. I drive 35 minutes just to see him for about 6.

I love Dr. Ruths and his office. He is understanding and compassionate, he has helped me through many rough times and has not given up on me. My depression and other issues are under control and feel better than ever.
