Dr. Surianarayanan Karthikeyan, MD

I am a new patient. I took a home colonoscopy test which came back with traces of blood in it- I went and met with Dr Karthikeyan and he scheduled me for a colonoscopy. At my first appointment he was very kind and answered all my questions, I went in for the procedure and he was the same- After it was over he came and talked to me- I am very happy with him

I'm surprised at the negative reviews Dr. Karthikeyan has received. Both the initial consultation and the procedure/recovery were all first rate. As the son of what we'd call an RPA today, I grew up around hospitals. So, I know a good doctor when I find one. His manner during the initial consult was thorough, polite, very professional, and fear calming. Fear was the reason why I'd not had a colonoscopy to this point. But, given that my employer would pay for it, sealed the deal. I had it done in Rochester given that I had family there. At no time during the process did Dr. Karthikeyan make me feel like I was a "widget" on an "assembly line". Additionally, when Dr. Karthikeyan spoke with my daughter (who is also a medical professional), she was impressed with him, as well. She found his analysis of what he found and his recommendations on my post-procedure care to be spot-on, and again was impressed by his professional and pleasant manner. I have no hesitation in not only… giving Dr. Karthikeyan my highest rating, by would recommend him to any family member...

Okay experience, but an insurance/ billing fiasco.

Prior to seeing Dr. Karthikeyan, I had read many negative reviews about him. Since I am a resident of Brockport and his office is within walking distance, I decided to take a chance and see him. I found him to be kind and very professional. He wasn't at all like the person described in many of the negative responses. At the conclusion of my follow-up visit (May 21, 2019), I told him I was going to write what I feel is an accurate and justly deserving positive review. He smiled warmly and described his sadness that so many people have written bad things about him. "Doctor K" is a fine doctor. I'd trust him with my life.

I had 2 procedures done recently- one was horribly painful recovery but at least I was properly sedated. The other I was wide awake, I didn't feel the burn of the sedation in the IV like I did before, I said I was in pain, and he kept going through with it. I do not think I received any sedation or very little, since before I went home and slept, but the other time I was wide awake the rest of the day and not groggy at all. Cruel or incompetent.

Long time patient. Always a positive and professional experience !

Very happy with this doctor, he provided good care to me and my wife. He was kind and patient with both of us in the office and for our procedures. It was nice have the office procedure because it was cheaper than going to the hospital and every penny counts!

Surprised by short wait time, office staff must have finally figured it out! Good doctor and convenient location.
