Dr. Susan Campbell Katz, MD

I had worked with this doctor off and on over a span of a few years. While I do believe Dr. Katz is competent in her field, I was hurt and felt incredibly dismissed by her behavior recently when she decided, over a phone call, that I was "too erratic" to work with. I was in tears because what she was perceiving as non-compliance stemmed from my inability to meet her requirements. I was going through a very difficult period, and depressed to the point where I was not able to take care of certain tasks.....getting up everyday was a challenge alone; I did not get bloodwork done in a timely manner, and had lost the paper order. It would have been nice if I were at least able to discuss this, but was not even given the chance to explain myself. I was taken aback by her sudden callous treatment; having a mood disorder is difficult enough. I have never experienced such a lack of compassion/understanding from a psychiatrist.

Dr. Katz is the best psychiatrist around. She genuinely cares about her patients. I was an extremely complicated case and she never gave up on me. She always reminded me that she was not going to give up until we found the right medication. She is great at creating the exact mixture and doses of medication that is needed for the patient. She has saved my life.

She is as patient as disease (dis-ease) is stubborn. Dr Katz is expensive, but well worth it. Save your pennies & dollars, skip the quacks and see Susan Katz. Seriously.

Dr. Katz has helped diagnose a minor bi polar condition. I was placed on a mood stabilizer and felt better within weeks. Dr Katz followed up with me via telephone as I was a winter visitor. She is an expert,at least in my situation on diagnosis. I appreciated her kindness and caring nature. I highly recommend her.
