Dr. Susan Susu Ransome, MD

I am very dissatisfied with my ophthalmologic care from Dr. Susan Ransome. I was seen 30 minutes late and received no apology from Dr. Ransome for being late. Being late is understandable, however no staff had informed me that she was running late to the clinic and on top of that, when I asked when I would be seen, the staff told me it would be "in a few minutes" when in fact the wait was 30 minutes. Adding insult to injury, Dr. Ransome, instead of apologizing for being late, explained her tardiness away due to LA traffic. Being an LA local myself, I know enough to plan ahead of time for traffic in order to not be late for patient appointments. Rather than apologizing for being late, she then lectured me on how I should prepare for a visit to take at least 2 hours long when I come to visit her. I did not understand why she mentioned this. Neither she nor her staff apologized for being late and I did not feel cared for as a patient. As a medical professional myself, I expect… better from UCLA Health and can only hope that their patient service will improve. I'm very dissatisfied with my experience and hope that Dr. Ransome and her staff can take this complaint into account when thinking about their patients.

Dr. Ransome is the best Opthalmologist I ever had. On my 1st appointment, she thoroughly check my eyes, saw some problems & referred me to another doctor for more testing. After a few months, I went back to Dr. Ransome & she performed an outpatient eye procedure which restored my vision & now, I can clearly see again.

Horrible Doctor. She made me wait almost three hours just to send me to someone else. I was SHOCKED someone with such poor expertise and bedside manner was even able to even find employment at such a reputable hospital like Jules Stein. Shame on you UCLA.
