Dr. Suzan Khalil Abdo, MD

Amazing doctor! Takes her time during each visit, and it is easy to schedule appointments.

I met her in 2004 when I was admitted to HoCo GH with pneumonia while 5 months pregnant with my first child. Dr. Abdo became my attending while in the hospital. I was there for almost 2 weeks. She made sure labor/delivery came to check on my pregnancy DAILY. She contact my insurance company when they were trying to discharge me - told them I needed to stay until I was WELL. She also gave me her cell number when I was discharged. She followed up with me. I began to see her as my primary. She has seen me through several asthma attacks that have hospitalized me. She also treated my Mother-in-law when hack doctors had her so hopped up on meds, she was catatonic. My ex-husband began to see her as well, as still does. I am able to get in for an appt. no problem! She listens to me, she also ASKS about my kids, my family and how they are doing. I am blown away by the negative reviews about her. I am not sure how that is possible?? Yes, she tragically lost her son in an accident. It… devastated her - as it would ANY parent. She has tried and successfully moved on with her practice. Her son (& daughter) have both worked in her office. She also just lost her father. Her father was getting care & she often had to juggle both her dad's needs and her practice. This is life, people! Cut her some slack!! I cannot speak to how she treats her staff - I mean, I have seen nothing but professionalism. She listens to my concerns, runs the tests I think need to be done. She lets me know when I am putting on weight or doing great! She has been nothing but hospitable and professional.... with a side of "amazing bedside manner"... I have had a great experience with her, and hope to continue to.

Dr. Abdo never gave the care we expected from a physician. She tried to brush aside our concerns and never explained our test results or issues clearly. When we asked how to improve our symptoms she just said figure it out. Will likely never go back to her again.

Do not go!!!She did not listen to my mom or the issues my mom was having instead we heard all about some book fair and then felt forced into buying left over food and some high priced basket. On this visit I heard all about her dead son. Then she begged me for money to go into her charity. If that is not bad enough after listening to all that I then had to hear about her exotic vacations she is going on funded by the charity. I am sure my moms insurance will get a nice size bill. Dr Abdo is crook who needs to be reported. After this visit we will be finding a new PCP. The did try her very best to get my mom to do a bone density that my mom does not need!! Bad doctor very bad. This is not how you run a doctors office. Stay away. I heard all of her issues but she heard none of ours!!! Please DO NOT GO AND DO NOT GIVE MONEY

Dr Abdo lashed out at me with harsh words in front of her staff and patients at the front desk. It hurt my feelings quite badly. I have been seeing her as my PCP for 13 years, but no longer.

I have been with doctor Abdo personally for over 5 years. She is very caring, very attentive, has an amazing intuition. She is always on target as to what is wrong with you and how to best treat it. She answers all our questions and only prescribes what is necessary, when necessary. She looks for ways to treat a problem/illness without always making you take medication. I took my mom in one day to see her, she had been treating my mom for years so she knew her. Dr Abdo took one look at her and said she had to go to the hospital right away. She stated what her problem looked to be, we got in the hospital, tests were down, and we learned she was exactly correct. Treatment began, the right specialists were requested by Dr Abdo, and my moms life was saved. She was in Kidney and Liver failure. We had seen 3 others doctors before going to Dr Abdo, they had all passed my mom onto another Doctor. Ignores us and her symptoms, and said she wasn’t going to survive. Thanks to Dr Abdo, Instill… have my mom, my kids have the grandmother and my mom has enjoyed 5 great grandchildren. Since then, our whole family was convinced of her gifted abilities and changed her to their Primary Care doc. Now whole family and dear friends now going to her. It’s good to know we all have a doctor watching over health issues so we don’t have to worry.

Her front office staff, specifically, an ill trained and inconsiderate woman named Latanya, does not exemplify Dr. Abdo's caliber of care and considerations.

always high turnaround in staff, she does not treat her employees well at all, treats them like slaves I was told by a former employee of hers. Always talks about her personal life to patients and about her children the entire visit, then charges you a huge amount for your visit. I should be giving her a bill for having to listen to HER PROBLEMS..

every time I am sick and needs an appointment, she always sees me right away

It is absolutely essential for a physician to follow-up with their patients regarding all lab and test results, whether the results are normal or abnormal. No news does not mean good news, it means no news. Dr. Abdo does not follow-up with any kind of lab result. This kind of negligence can lead to undiagnosed conditions for years and put a patient's health in serious jeopardy. This is an unacceptable way to practice medicine, especially for a primary care physician that oversees the long-term health of patients. I do not recommend this physician to anyone. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
