Dr. Sven Wenske

I could easily write pages of praise for Dr. Sven Wenske. I know that he is a truly gifted doctor who has earned the respect and admiration of his patients and the staff in the Urology Dept. And this regard for Dr. Wenske is not just to be found at NYP/Columbia. I had the occasion to get a second opinion at Sloan Kettering and Dr. Scardino , a very well known physician and Urologist spoke glowingly of Dr. Wenske. In short , you could not possibly do better than to be in the care of this truly kind and compassionate man. I appreciate all you have done for me dear Dr. Wenske. THANK YOU !

I recently had an emergency situation, which Dr Wenske addressed promptly and with great efficiency. He has a calming demeanor that put my mind at ease, and his medical advice had immediate, positive results. I can't thank him enough for his care.

Dr. Sven Wenske is easily one of the best doctors I've had and I have been through major illness and have been treated by some great doctors. I had a urology situation requiring immediate attention and was able to see him quickly when my PCP's office contacted him. He listened very carefully, did the right things from the start. I had to have kidney stone surgery which had to be done in two parts, to my benefit. From what I know from others I had minimal discomfort and virtually no pain in the aftermath of both surgeries. Not only did I think he was also a very empathetic and kind and considerate person, when I asked the nurses in the Recovery Room both times about him they spoke very highly of him, and in such a way that I'm sure they were being sincere. The nurses opinions are very important to consider. I recommend Dr. Wenske most highly, without hesitation and with enthusiasm.

Dr. Wenske has consistently demonstrated his expertise in the field while providing care in a warm and compassionate manner.

Dr. Wenske takes the time to first understand why you made an appointment. He gets to know his patient and listens well. Then he describes his thinking and what it is you (the patient) can expect. Knowing what he is doing it and why he is doing it are comforting. He then patiently explains what he thinks as a result of his examination and shares his conclusions. He is an "old style" doctor with all the technology tools at his disposal. There were no surprises and I felt really well cared for.

Dr Wenske is very professional, has excellent bedside manners and is extremely knowledgeable and explains everything patiently. I highly recommend him and his staff as a Urologist who will take great care of you.

Dr. "wenske" is an excellent dr. gave me a lot of time and clear after my surgery he gave me frequent housecalls to show of his concern he followed up on the surgery and stay in touch with me and is always there if I've had a problem

Dr. Wenske is a thorough professional who patiently explained, what was for me, a concerning, first time biopsy. He is humane, skilled and has an excellent bed side manner.

Dr Wenske reviewed the results of my lab work for my ongoing issue with kidney stones. He was totally professional and sensitive to my concerns. He made sure that I knew what the data meant. He also encouraged any questions and concerns that I had going forward with my diet. I truly felt that he was dedicated to helping me avoid kidney stone pain again. I feel very blessed in having such a caring health professional monitor my kidney stone health issue.

Dr asked me all the questions. Dr stayed with me for most of my visit. NP did not take over. I was very impressed with this Dr as he took the time with me not NP. NP was with Dr but she did not take over the visit. Dr. Frank Livelli recommended Dr Wenske and that meant a lot. All my Drs are with Columbia Presbyterian and are very important to my life. I work for a Hospital in Bergen County and their is a day and night difference.
