Dr. Tejal Jakatdar, PhD

Sadly, I found Tejal at a difficult point in my life. Her unprofessionalism was offensive; always starting meetings late only to end them early. One time, she didn't even show up to our appointment and I was left knocking at her office door confused. She did little to help my OCD, but I was thankful for her diagnosis. I always felt rushed and she would quickly ask about payment before my hour was up. I felt like she didn't really care about if I got better or not. Unfortunately, my experience with her discouraged me from seeking further professional help and from treating my OCD. Her treatment was definitely not for me and I couldn't recommend her to anyone. But don't let my review discourage you, just take my words with a grain of salt.

Hands down the worst psychologist I have ever been to! She's extremely condescending, rude and greedy for money. She profoundly lacks empathy towards OCD sufferers, trauma survivors or anyone with disabilities. She started of by forcing me to wait in her lobby despite her being done with the other patients, while she opens the door and strolls over into the lobby to make herself some coffee. Only once the clock starts she rudely barked at me to enter. Then she gave a long annoying boring lecture about OCD, without any new information. Her mannerisms are absolutely atrocious, she tries to come across as cold, strict and condescending as possible. Then she claims that she wouldn't create any kind of treatment plan for OCD without wasting 4 sessions interrogating me. After 45 minutes she literally shooed me out of the office and slammed the door in my face. During the next session she asked me inappropriate questions and tried to force me to answer them and acted aggressively when I… refused to answer personal questions. She made all kind of negative comments and baseless accusations about me. When I talked to her about my OCD she acted utterly unsympathetic and uncaring, giving me looks of disgust and contempt for showing vulnerability. When asked for the treatment plan she kept acting arrogantly claiming she knew what was best and that without the questions she wouldn't proceed with the treatment. Afterwards I decided to give her one last chance, out of my misguided hope she could help me even moving around my other appointments for her date and time. But due to her incompetence and disorganization, she manages to book me at the same time as another patient. Without even apologizing for her mistake, she insists she only has one other time and either I make it or she won't book me. After realizing how unreliable and rude she truly was I decided to cut my losses. But I still wasted $650 on her and underwent tremendous emotional suffering due to her cruelty, don't make the same mistake I did. If you value your time, money, dignity and really want help for your OCD, then she's definitely not the right psychologist for you, Someone needs to sue her for unprofessional conduct.
