Dr. Teresa M King, MD

I saw Dr. King several years ago. At the time, I was suffering from a multitude of health issues including severe UC. She spent so much time with me at each of our appointments, listening to my symptoms, asking questions, and getting to know me personally. It was she who ultimately told me I needed to see a rheumatologist. Turns out, my UC and other issues all stemmed from arthritis, which I did not know I had. She didn't just care about my UC getting under control, but about my health in general. I am healthy, comfortable and active today because of Dr. King. Whenever I have a bad experience with another doctor who rushes me through the appointment and obviously doesn't care, I remind myself of Dr. King, and that there are doctors who DO care, and do not see medicine as merely a career.

I've been seeing Dr. King for over 10 years now and I love her. I've sent my sister to her and I recommend her to anyone that has gi issues. She treats you like a person not just a number or dollar sign. She always asks me about my personal life and over all health and she remembers things. She has a great bedside manner and has really helped me live as normal a life as I can.

I have been a patient of Dr. King's for 20-25 years and have the utmost confidence in her abilities. She is thorough and efficient. She takes time to listen to my concerns, and we discuss plans to proceed with treatment. I trust her completely with my medical care.

Don't expect to sleep through this colonoscopy or have no memory of the agony it involves! There's a soft-spoken nurse who gives you some medication that encourages you to relax and cooperate to the point that when she asks the dumbest question (after you are groaning from the pain): "Are you okay?"Well, why would I be groaning over and over if I was okay??? Duh! Problem is the med had me so calm that I gave a dumb answer: "Yes!" each time she asked because the doctor would have stopped long enough for me to answer! I WAS OK at that very second, but wasn't awake enough to answer properly, which would have been: "No, Dumby!" My friend reported exactly the same experience at this place! So Beware--it doesn't have to be this way because both my friend and I have had enough experience with colonoscopies to know so!

Dr. King took me on as a patient when I had no insurance. I didn't have anybody else who would help me. My Chrons disease about took my life, but thankfully I am still here today due to her kindness and her excellent abilities as a doctor. Her staff are just as great as her. Never had a dr. Office treat me like I was family till I went to see her. She is the best.
