Dr. Thomas Peter Fantes, MD

I think Dr. Fantes is a great doctor. He was always professional and courteous. He always took the time to listen and would go over a treatment plan so I understood and would listen to my opinion. I NEVER saw the mood swings someone else commented on. I would recommend him highly.

Dr. Fantes is a very kind and caring doctor, i was very upset when he left his newport practice, he was the very best doctor i have ever had, I am very happy that he is still in practice and that he is accepting new/old patients, i am looking forward to my visit with him as soon as i make an appointment. He is a EXCELLENT doctor with a very caring and friendly bedside manner. :)

He doesn't believe in pain medication, antibiotics, or Lyme disease. There probably are other problems and remedies in which he doesn't believe.But he's a pleasant fellow. And he's willing to listen -- if not to record the topic of conversation, or remember it. And he's willing to order tests, if not necessarily the ones suggested by the patient's symptoms. You could do a lot worse; I have.

If you wanted to get treated like a child and be yelled at, then this is the doctor for you. His mood swings are like a pendulum. One minute he's nice the next he'll yell at you if he doesn't like what you've said. It could be the smallest comment or opinion and he'll snap striking you so off guard at his unprofessional-ism that you're too shocked to say anything. Constantly wasting your precious office time with stories of how bad other doctors behaviors are and how the government is "out to get" doctors these days. He is more concerned about doing what all the other doctors do and protecting himself than helping patients. IMO he is extremely paranoid and behaves like a school kid w/ the attitude that if other doctors are doing stuff and getting away w/ it then I should to.Please see someone else. For your own good.
