Dr. Thomas Francis Laporta, MD

My experience with the medical practice of Todd Atkinson, MD, and Thomas Laporta, MD, has been unmatched. Two years ago Dr. Laporta was on call at Lee hospital in Cape Coral the day after I arrived there in an ambulance. It was my 80th birthday and he skillfully repaired my broken femur. Later that day I learned that he is a doctor for the Red Sox. With what those baseball players are paid, I knew that team doctors are definitely the cream of the crop. Bottom line: I now walk perfectly. Two years later I needed a reverse shoulder replacement. Dr. Laporta recommended his business partner Dr. Todd Atkinson, a shoulder specialist whose education credentials are truly exceptional. Dr. Atkinson repaired my shoulder with an almost painless procedure. A few Tylenol for a few days was all I needed for the 25 staple incision. Physical therapy was offered at their office. Four months later, I am very close to normal. Both men are compassionate, outstanding doctors with office hours in both Cape… Coral and Fort Myers. Dr Laporta treated my tennis elbow and frozen shoulder. His treatment plans were well planned and successful. Highly recommend. He will only do surgery as a last resort. His goal was to get me back on the tennis courts when I had recovered in conjunction with his excellent PTs.

After years of injections, physical therapy and more injections, I decided to have surgery on what was Chondral on the back of my knee. When in surgery it was more extensive, but the outcome in just 4 weeks was amazing, at 8 weeks it is doing fantastic. Dr. Laporta was upfront and honest on what to expect. Highly recommend to anyone I know, which I have already. Cheryl his nurse is caring plus the staff is very professional. If you are considering surgery, I would highly recommend you make and appointment and speak with him. You won't go wrong!

Dr. La Porta is an outstanding Doctor . He makes eye contact with the patient , listens to the patient , evaluates the patients condition and provides a personalized treatment regimen . It’s personalized care folks by a wonderful Doctor who has genuine empathy for your ailments .
