Dr. Thomas M. Wisniewski, MD

Dr. Wisniewski is the finest doctor I have ever met. Director of the Pearl I. Barlow Center at NYU, has 30 U.S. patents (I googled 20 in medicine), and earned his M.D. at internationally-ranked & research-intensive King’s College London. I accompanied my husband to his appointment to be evaluated for frontotemporal dementia, i.e. primary progressive aphasia. After floundering for years, I am confident & relieved my husband will finally get the medical care he needs. Dr. Wisniewski was exceptionally kind, reassuring, & inspires confidence.

I came to dr. Wisniewski with hopes that I will get the attention and treatment necessary to get me better. Since my hospitalization, my symptoms only got worse. While he seems like a knowledgeable doctor, but his follow up is horrible. We had to pull teeth with his staff to get feedback on the test results. He failed to perform all the necessary tests needed and I had to undergo 2 lumbar puncture with the 2nd one giving me severe side effects. He never once came to see me at the hospital. there were a lot of miscommunications by his staff or residents that were seeing me while I was admitted. Even now, I am trying to convey the side effects I have encountered by the prescribed medication, I am getting no where. Overall, if you or your family is looking for a neurologist, he is one that you should not consider. his treatment method and approach will only get you or your loved once worse.

Dr. Wisnewski is obviously bright and perhaps well respected but lacks sensitivity. Quick to suggest my likelihood of developing Alzheimer's is great and quick to encourage me to get into his study. But in think he neglected to see me as a person, as a reasonably intelligent, functioning human being! His bias to increase his numbers may overshadow his working thoughtfully with patients as not just "another subject". Having done a fair amount of research, ink he was not fully honest about other research not in total agreement with his thinking.
