Excelente doctor

I was told by Dr. Rapp that my symptoms were of no concern and that a specific tumor I was concerned about was totally unlikely. Turned out I had that "unlikely" cancer and, if not for a far better doctor than he, would have never caught it in time to save my life. He never even bothered to return my post-diagnosis calls. He's dismissive, frequently late, talks down to you and tasks his much nicer nurses with his essential duties. I often felt like some sort of sideshow considering how often he'd bring med students into my appointments. NYC has many wonderful doctors and I would say Rapp is certainly not one of them.

After having me wait a ridiculous number of hours, he literally could not be bothered to even look at my imaging and ultimately misdiagnosed me. Have been dealing with the consequences of that misdiagnosis for the past three years. I later found out I wasn’t the first to experience this with him. I encourage you for your own good to go somewhere else.

In giving me a recommendation for a pulmonary specialist, Dr. Rapp mentioned that the doctor was very "thoughtful." I thought the same of Dr. Rapp. I had a concern that I might have bone mets and Dr. Rapp's recommendations for further imagining was well thought out. He also was kind enough to check two other issues that were extraneous to the reason I was there. Would highly recommend him if you want a thoughtful doctor who takes time to talk to you and hear you out.

Wonderful office visits. Treated with respect and listens to your health issue. Did not rush the visit.

Am a nervous patient and everything Dr. Rapp did from the beginning helped to make my surgery go well. Staff thinks highly of him too and I found this reassuring that they seemed to say you are in the best place with the best doctor for your condition. This went a long way into calming me and realizing that they were right. Professional and interested but not chatty which I liked. Overall felt very confident that things would turn out right which it appears they did and I thank the Dr. very much for that. Staff is excellent also.

Beside manner is so bad that I wanted to ask him why he is practicing medicine at all. Clearly, he hates his job and I will not see him again.
