Dr. Timothy Sean Whitaker, MD

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Timothy S. Whitaker today as he was the Doctor that performed both my Colonoscopy , and EGD-OSS procedures . I have to say from the time I walked into Basset Healthcare in Oneonta I was very pleased ,from the women at the front desk , all the nurses , the anesthesiologist ,and assistants . They were beyond nice , they all were very professional , kind, courteous ,respectful and couldn't have done enough for me . The facility is spotless , and easy to get to . Dr. Whitaker explained everything before, and after the procedures , and couldn't have been nicer , and he has an awesome bedside manor . I strongly , and highly recommend him and his staff . Hey just wondering cause someone told me when I go in for my gallbladder removed they would be cameras so the OR can watch

Ended up in ER with tear in colon; Dr. Whitaker was called to come in and treat my worsening condition. In laymen's terms, he thoroughly explained my condition to myself and husband as we know nothing in medical terminology. Dr. Whitaker is a thoughtful, patient and professional doctor who I would highly recommend to anyone with diverticulitis or any colon issues.

I'd find another surgeon if I were you. I was in Fannin Regional Hospital for removal of my gall bladder. Dr. Whitaker walked in and says "don't worry we'll take care of that HERNIA". When I pointed out his error he says "Oh, I must have looked at the wrong chart". Needless to say, this doesn't instill confidence in you when you are going into surgery by him. My wife was appalled. He never saw me at the hospital after surgery and neither he nor his office staff called me at home to see how I was doing. Yeah, he prayed over me before surgery but after what he did I needed all the prayers I could get. Fannin Regional Hospital was also unsatisfactory. It is not clean, the staff is rude, condescending and generally unprofessional. I could go on and on about how bad this hospital is. I had a page-long typewritten list of appalling deficiencies at this hospital. I brought these to the attention of my personal physician and the OR director. I hope they did something about their… operation before they have some real bad outcomes.

I worked as a nurse at the hospital caring for his patients and he is one the most caring and conscientious doctors I have ever seen. I have seen him pray with hhis patients- myself included, as I was also a patient of his. He took my gallbladder out and repaired an umbilical hernia. I just love his demeanor and his spirit.

Dr Whitaker is one of the most caring Doctors I have ever gone to.he is very professinal,takes time to explain what he is going to do,and what to expect during surgery and the after effects.
