Phenomenal and caring physician. Provided excellent care, communication and expertise to assure he went above and beyond to make this experience the best possible at Jupiter Medical Center. He is the one and only hospitalist in Palm Beach County I would completely trust to be in charge of my care.

Spoke to patient who was medically sedated, not the legal health surrogate.

I was admitted to Jupiter Medical Center with chest pain. During my visit, I found out that Dr. Bradford was subcontracted by my primary care physician to perform the role of the "attending physician" at the hospital. Bradford viewed my EKG and then had me released to an observation floor. Later in the day, the cardiologist who was on call arrived. He took a look at my EKG and asked if I had been given an echocardiogram--which I hadn't. He immediately had me transferred off the observation floor to the ICU. Given that I had an allergy to iodine, I was also supposed to be given certain preventative medication in case it turned out I needed an angiogram. However, not even that basic step was taken. And as it turned out, I needed a cardiac cath. I indicated to the cardiologist that I'd prefer the cath. procedure be performed at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center as their cardiac cath. lab is accredited and they can perform angioplasty on site (which Jupiter can't]. My… cardiologist responded with "not a problem". About a half hour later, Dr. Bradford entered my room and said, "So I hear you want to be transferred to Palm Beach Gardens. You know if more people had the procedure done here, we'd get our accreditation and we wouldn't have to transfer people. But I guess you'll just leave that to someone else, huh?" It was the most unprofessional comment I've ever heard coming from a doctor, particularly considering the fact that my wife was in the room and she had a relative who had a cardiac cath in an unaccredited hospital and crashed while he was being transferred to a different hospital that could perform angioplasty. Frankly, I felt like asking Dr. Bradford, "Did you go to an accredited medical school or one that was trying to get its accreditation?" Bradford then gave a final Joe Isuzu-like pitch by saying, "Well I hope that in the future you'll consider Jupiter Medical Center as your first choice in hospitals". Fortunately, I had a cardiologist who was professional and took the right steps. The cardiac cath. showed that I had an extraordinarily small coronary artery that needs to be managed. As for Dr. Bradford, I obviously wasn't impressed with his technical expertise. But what was more concerning is that he did not appear to have any concern for me as a patient. Perhaps that is unavoidable when a doctor is essentially a "rent-a-doc" for physicians with their own patient base. However, if you're a patient when Dr. Bradford is the "attending", I'd recommend that you make a request to see the on call specialist as soon as you can.

He was my admitting doctor for when I went into the emergency room for a ruptured appendix. After the surgery I had complications, and the surgeon had me scheduled to go back in and remove part of my intestine. Dr Bradford talked him into holding off surgery the morning off the surgery, because he felt things were getting better. And he was correct!!!! My intestines finaly started working on their own. Can't thank him enough for sparing me that second surgery.
