Dr. Todd E Tallman, MD, FACS

My appointment was for 2:30. I arrived at 1:51. The doctor eventually saw me at 4:15 for between five and ten minutes. He did not wear gloves and I don't believe he had washed his hands before entering the room; they were not damp. He gave short and unhelpful answers to my questions and dashed out of the room again. The nurse forgot to give me my information packet, nor did she give me more than a sentence or two of oral information. She said that everything would be handled later over the phone. I asked why this meeting too could not have been handled over the phone, and she said "That's not the way we do things." I asked her why the two-hour wait, and she said "Dr. Tallman is a specialist." I asked her not to send in the prep prescription or to make an appointment for surgery until I had time to consider whether I wanted to continue seeing Dr. Tallman. I went down to the car and returned immediately to tell the receptionist that I would definitely not be seeing Dr.… Tallman. I was asked to go and see the charge nurse. She apologized for not having told me that Dr. Tallman had had to do an unexpected biopsy earlier in the day, throwing off his schedule, and she apologized also for the fact that they had not given me any information. She gave me a large manila folder which I should have received and asked me if I would be willing to have someone tell me what I should have been told in my appointment. I agreed to this but specifically said I did not want to proceed further towards pre-surgery. The person I was to speak to greeted me and then disappeared for another 15 minutes, saying that the manila folder did not contain the proper information, and when she finally came back with my paperwork it turned out that someone had already scheduled an appointment and phoned in a prep to my pharmacy, all of which she proceeded to tell me about. Then she found that the wrong instructions for prep had been put in my folder and there was another five-minute wait while she got a new instruction page for that. If they could make that many mistakes in my initial interview, I don't want to let Dr. Tallman or anyone in his practice anywhere near my colon.

I was waiting to hear test results and I went into the office for a visit and he was going to let me leave without tellinf me my diagnosis. When he told me he did not explain it. He rushed out of the room. I think the follow up appointments are made to often. I did not think the girl making appointments was friendly at all, her name was Meagan. The front desk lady was always nice and as for the nurses in the room I felt like I was a guinea pig at a nursing school.
