Dr. Veleka Maritza Willis, MD

Dr. Willis helped me through one of the scariest times in my life! I was going to have a preterm delivery and I didnt know what to expect or how to feel. Luckily I had Dr. Willis. She educated me on all the risks but she also reassured me that her and her team were doing their absolute best for me and my baby. I ended up with a healthy baby girl 5 days later and I could not be more thankful.

I told her that the Cervidil was causing negative effects on my body. She disregarded me and said that it’s normal labor pains. A few hours later I had to have an emergency C-section because my baby’s heart rate was dropping. A stimulated cervix and an abnormal fetal heart rate are BOTH side effect of the drug, but instead of listening to her patient she let me suffer for 2 more hours and condescended me asking the stupidest question of that moment “did I attend any birthing classes” in attempt to minimize my pain instead of taking me serious.

I’m 30 weeks pregnant and I simply refuse to see another doctor. I’ve never met a doctor that was so professional but “ gets it” at the same time. Really down to earth and knows her stuff!
