GREAT DOCTOR AND GREAT STAFF -HARD TO GET APPOINTMENT RIGHT AWAY BUT ALL AROUND A GOOD EXPERIENCE

I had the carotid artery surgery two weeks ago. I have had many surgeries in my life. The recovery is very painful. My ear hurts so much. I feel like I have a severe ear infection with non stop pain day in and day out. I was not given ANY pain meds after leaving the hospital. I was not given any info on what to expect. It’s been a slow go in recovering. I was told I’d have a 2-3 inch scar on my neck, my scar is at least 5 inches. Dr. Beckett keeps telling me this surgery is routine. Maybe for him it is. I also developed a complication a couple of day’s after surgery. It’s called first bite syndrome (FBS). When you take a bite or two of your food, or your first sip of a drink, you get an electrified intense pain in your mouth and jaw. With pain shooting up your face. I’m told by the doctor that it’s rare. I hope it goes away eventually. No telling if it will go away. I don’t like the way this doctor acts like this surgery is no big deal. It’s the most painful surgery and recovery I’ve… ever had. I’m still debilitated after two weeks. I’m 60 years old and was very active. Not any more. I’m like an old person, in pain 24/7. Not a happy person right now. I guess he’s a good doctor.
