Dr. William Cheshire Jr.

Super arrogant. Before even meeting me he said pots was likely due to deconditioning. I’m a personal trainer.

After reading the reviews, I was a little nervous about taking my son to this doctor. But Dr. Cheshire was kind, gentle, thorough, and listened well. He was confident, but did not come across arrogant in the least. I consider reviews recognizing that most of us are at the end of rope by the time we get to Mayo. So a lot of hope is put in these appointments and doctors. Wanted to add a positive review to this list.

Like others, the first appointment was good. However, after many tests and difficulty taking prescribed meds, the final appointment was a disaster. He was mocking at the outset, offered no solutions except to see other specialists & rudely discontinued the appointment saying my time was up, although I had no idea how much time was alotted. I attempted to ask a question through the patient portal but he refused to answer saying he had already answered that (but I didn’t understand). It was a very debilitating experience. It took several months to pay of the bill.

He blew off on an assistant , made me take a test on medication he knew would discount the value of the tests and generally disappointed me so much Ingave up on Mayo.

Honestly super condescending. Very little help

This is just my perception however it seems that Dr. Cheshire has the same or very similar M.O.'s for most of his patients (based on internet reviews and personal experience.) Give hope and show deep interest at your first exam. Order innumerable amounts of tests and come up with a diagnosis that you already knew or suspected. Stare blankly in awkward silence at you during your follow up visit before he gets up and leaves you with the slip of paper that says your care is complete. You cry and write an honest review about him. My local neurologist finally diagnosed me with a form of muscular dystrophy.

I don’t recommend Dr Cheshire. Upon first encounter he prescribes loads of tests, many more than the presentation would indicate. He is late on follow up, poor to communicate and when results don’t yeild clarity, ships you off to another specialty.

I was referred to Dr Cheshire specifically for autonomic testing due to long term systems and their onset. The Dr's not only misquoted me several times in his report, but instead of actively listening to my issues, he literally counted how many rings were on my fingers and the fact that I have a piercing and tattoos, and he put that info in the report. Even though I have a history of optic neuritis and a ton of other chronic issue with no known cause, his only advice to me was to exercise (I am barely functioning as of now )and he sent me on my way with no testing.

Dr. Cheshire is not a doctor that you should consider if you are experiencing a difficult health issue that is hard to diagnose. He is uncompassionate, his bed side manner is terrible, he does not really care about his patients. He thinks that he is some god and we are all beneath him. Mayo clinic is supposed to have the best doctors and I think they have missed the mark with him.

He's much better than my local neurologist.
