Dr. William Francis Ganz, MD

Outstanding physician in terms of conscientious patient care.

Wendy Belew Dr. Ganz was the rudest, most condescending, insulting, and shaming doctor I have ever been to. My husband and I were both shocked. He walked in the room announcing that he would not do surgery on me because I am too overweight and it wouldn't be a success, before he even introduced himself or made eye contact. I don't have a problem with that information--it was the way it was delivered. He brought up my weight multiple times. He shamed me for taking pain medication. He also said [twice] that he saw nothing on my MRI that would explain the symptoms I described. I think he was insinuating he didn't believe me about the pain I've been having for 17 years. I could continue to give detailed examples of his negative words and behavior, but you probably get the picture. The others that gave him one star reviews had very similar experiences to mine. I can't believe those 5 star reviews are legitimate. He was the opposite of friendly and considerate. I will never go to him… again and I caution anyone who considers him. I went due to a referral my doctor gave, and I will be telling my doctor about my experience.

After chiropractic, physical therapy and my granddaughter asking why I limped I had had enough. Working through my family doctor I quickly got an appointment with Samantha Wheeler, PA. She fully discussed my situation using my MRI as a guide and the choices I had to take care of the matter. After seeing Dr. Ganz a surgical date was set. I only wish now I had done the back surgery earlier and skipped so much of the pain. Since my surgery in Dec. pain has been non-existent. I cannot say enough good for Dr. Ganz and all his staff. I have been treated very kindly and in a very speedy manner. I would recommend this office to anyone who wants the best care for your back. Many thanks to Dr. Ganz and his staff.

Great Surgeon. The post surgery care lacked in follow up. Never got a post call from he or staff. Only after I called with complications did I receive a return call. My stress level increases at his office. He has terrible bedside manners. I was in a lot of pain/discomfort post surgery and he accused my wife of her wanting pain meds. Unbelievable. I had a post MRI to confirm that there were "fragments" left behind that would eventually go away. He did apologize that I was in some discomfort. But he did resolve my issue and for that, I'm greatful.

I refused to allow Dr. Ganz to do my surgery out of disgust/distrust for him. He may be a good surgeon, and I'm happy for people that have had a good experience with him, but based on how he treated me I refuse to give him my money. I am overweight, but not overly so, and I'm a healthy eater and active until I recently started having severe back pain. (I've continued to swim because I am weight and health conscious) He immediately began the appointment by focusing on my weight and blaming my herniated disc on my supposed eating problem. I am concerned that with all his focus on blaming my weight for my condition that he will probably miss something. I'm scheduled for an appointment with another doctor and am looking forward to meeting with someone that will be interested in helping me, rather than blaming or shaming me.

I came across this site looking for directions to his office. Having seen what the last person wrote persuaded me to come to his defense: Being an ER case, I had not met Dr. Ganz prior to surgery. He was quite serious and solemn, but as many people have pointed out: if your surgeon is not serious, you need to find a new surgeon. All subsequent post-op visits and appointments, he was attentive, kind and thorough. His staff was equally nice. I could not recommend him more highly.

They say they are in our Insurance network. Ten months later they send me a bill. When I turn them in the BBB. They turn me in to a credit agency and I only received the one bill over 10 months later. Ruined our credit. I even Paid them..... He has a bedside manner of a pig. Uncaring, didn't listen to what I had to say. Overall very RUDE. Office staff even worse. Don't be leave a word they say.

He said I needed surgery for a slipped disk, yet said he wouldn't operate until I lose 30 pounds. He was ver rude and almost seemed grossed out that I'm over weight. Yes, I'm over weight, but I'm a very active, hard working person, I felt he judged me right off the bat, I'm no three hundred pound person, but he sure made me feel that way, I do not feel comfortable having hime operate on me! I'm going elsewhere!This is a warning to anyone thinking of going to him that may be overweight, if your thin, he'll probably like you.

Amazing surgeon! Performed stereotactic neurosurgery to remove a benign meningioma from my frontal lobe (completely resected, by the way). My primary care physician, whose practice is located in another state & has never worked with Dr. Ganz & only knows about his reputation said that he is the "premier neurosurgeon in this area" & that "if (she) had to have brain surgery for the condition I (had), that he would be the one to do it."
