Dr. William Macaulay, MD

That is my review on May 19th, 2023. I did not check a 1 for Accurate Diagnosis. His diagnosis was spot on.

I saw Dr. Macauley at his NYU office in Manhattan. I had very limited mobility in my left hip. I was up walking within two hours of my surgery and now able to walk, get out of a chair, and live my life without pain and at a faster pace than before. Everything he told me would happen did. I feel 20 years younger! His PA Anna is amazing and answered all my questions.

The epitome of an uncaring, distant doctor who shuns personal involvement with his patients. All communication, scant as it is, is through standardized Forms. Do yourself a favor. Find someone else.

I needed a right knee replacement so I looked up Orthopaedic surgeons on the internet , and Dr. Macaulay seem to be a good choice. Dr. Macaulay verbalize to me, “who looks up a doctor on the internet?” I do I stated, that’s how I found my hip surgeon also, and he was wonderful. He was not nice at all, but I needed a knee. He did the surgery and I was sent home. When the physical therapist came to help me I would scream in pain, this went on for months. Dr. Macaulay would not answer my calls but have his PA call me back. I explained my situation and she stated that Dr. Macaulay said everyone heals differently. Well I lived on ice 24/7 due to the feeling of electrical shock pains shooting down my calf to my foot. The Physical therapist called Dr. M to tell him he couldn’t work with me in this much pain. The doctor didn’t care. The knee would lock up for years after surgery and I couldn’t move until it was ready to release, even when I was driving which was scary. Now after seeing a top… doctor in HSS I need to have the knee redone. Not a professional in my opinion.

Dr. Macaulay is a caring doctor who does everything possible to insure the best outcome. I’m doing so well after my hip replacement ( following dislocstions from a previous surgery). I can’t praise him enough!

I would give 10 stars if I could. I am a physician myself and after meeting other orthopedic surgeons at HSS and Columbia, we chose Dr. Macaulay because he is experienced, straight forward and overall a caring doctor. He is well experienced and completed my dad's total knee replacement within 1.5 hours and he was able to walk that same night without any pain. Other surgeons may have a lot of pomp and circumstance saying they can customize implants and give you the Mercedes Benz of a knee replacement but truly all you want is some one who is a good and experienced operator who can delivery results. Dr Macaulay is the perfect choice. Look no where else.

I have been a long time patient of Dr. Macaulay's. 8 years ago, he gave me the ability to walk again and to this day seeing him in his new NYU office has been a joy and an extremely simple transition. I'm so glad I stuck with with Dr. Macaulay and if any problems arise again I know he'll be there for me. Thank you! 5 stars!!!!

Saw Dr. Macaulay at NYU. His office and staff were terrific. He evaluated my knee and suggested non surgical treatment. It's hard to find a such an honest and ethical surgeon. I highly recommend him.

There are no words to describe Dr. Macaulay justly. He is the most professional, and knowledgable, kind hearted Dr. I have had several surgeries in the past, but since my latest surgery with Dr. M he gave me a new life, new leg. I can do so much in my life without feeling limited. I feel no pain and I recuperated very fast. I truly believe God works his miracles thru Dr. Macauly's hands, he is truly gifted. I give him 5 five stars 10x's!!!
