Dr. William Jacob Vanwyk, MD

It starts with the Staff. His staff is excellent. 1) If there in office they Answer. 2) If its clinic day or there out, they got back to me timely. 2) No answering machine, an actual Answering Service who will text Dr or staff your issue. Dr Vanwyk was thorough with my exam, explained options and procedure process for each option. He scheduled me for additional test to ensure his diagnosis. The staff even checked with the referred test center to make sure they took my insurance, something I have had issues with my other Dr offices lately which have caused delays in my heart test, hand and elbow surgeries and back surgery. The Heart dr and my reg. Physician scheduled me for test with out of network clinics/specialists delaying all my procedures months. UNBELIEVABLE! But Dr VanWyks staff have worked w/me scheduling me ASAP in between the other Drs issues. Dr VanWyks and his staff are the only ones who have Completed my Insurance/STD paperwork timely which has saved me losing benefits.

The people you employ for your office are a reflection of you as a physician. Although Dr. Van Wyk was able to repair my fractured finger. I would never recommend anyone to come here ever. Not only do they make you wait almost an hour to get called back to get seen for a simple follow up. the billing office "manager" Angie and their front desk lady Danielle are 2 of the WORST people I have ever met and have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I work for a childrens hospital and I would never in a million years speak to a patient the way they have spoken to me. If you have any private insurance, you can forget about a simple copay or co ins. they will charge whatever they want and want everything paid in life before ever being seen or before even contacting your insurance for accurate amounts of payment. I am currently owed a close to a 1000 refund from my surgery JUST because the billing is so off and done very poorly. I showed the office statements from Aetna showing… how much the allowed amount should have been and tried to show them they were wrong and this could have been prevented. Currently I am calling everyday to get an update on my refund and im being avoided by angie ( the "office" manager" and Danielle declining/ hanging up the phone when I call for an update or to speak to manager. whats makes this worse? the ladies told the Dr. how I was questioning their work and my concerns and all he did was laugh and brush it off. please save yourself the headache and stress and do not come here, this office is sketchy.

I am a law enforcement employee whom had a accident in which I ran into a barrier. Office girl who reads her script was asked for office manager whom is also a female with hispanic accent. So they read a script and don't listen to potential patients. They do not have a system for a complaints and comments. This office will rip you off with many excuses to have you pay cash. They will not use your medical insurance. So callled Dr. William K Van Wyk Hand Surgeon. Such a name and embrassing staff. DFW

If I could give less than 1 star I would. This doctor never even so much as introduced himself. Tried to pull me out of the room to take x-rays before the nurse had even taken my bandages off. I went for a surgical consultation and once he decided I did not need surgery explicitly said he did not have to do anything for me. I requested a recommendation for pain relief and was attacked for just "looking for opioids." and was then told "it's just a fracture. Sure it hurts but man up and deal with it." I then said I didn't ask for opioids, even a recommendation for ice would've been fine I was rushed to check out where my wife tried to ask followup questions. When that caused a lecture we tried to leave and he grabbed my wife by the shoulder so he could continue to lecture her. Absolutely the worst medical experience of my life. Do not ever go to see this awful past-his-prime doctor.

He diagnosed my problem within 10 min of the visit. The same problem 4 other doctors did not catch and as a result I had been in pain for almost a year. I hadsurgery a week later, than therapy in the office and made a full recovery! No scar, no pain. Dr Van Wyk is the best and would not hesitate to see him again

The doctor does see people for second opinions and I did pay cash. The only thing that I thought was unusual is that he spent so much time with me that I didn't know if he was going to let me leave, lol, seriously. The doctor was nice and over-explained everything. Now I have to go get my EMG.

After suffering from painful joints in my fingers from osteoarthritis, I visited several doctors who told me that nothing could be done. They were wrong! Dr. Van Wyk performed surgery on several of my fingers, which were disfigured and painful. The surgeries were successful, the downtime was minimal, and the pain is gone! I am completely satisfied with my results, and you will, too. Don't hesitate to make an appointment.

I had a horrible experience with Dr. Wyk. Dr. Wyk was rude. He did not explain fully what to expect following the surgery and I was in a lot of pain following my procedure as well as swollen and bruised. I had the same surgery done by another doctor a few months later on my other wrist and it was a totally different experience. No swelling, no bruising and very little pain. I would not go back.

I had to have surgery to remove a ganglion cyst on my right wrist. Dr. Van Wyk identified the problem right away, and scheduled me for surgery. The surgery went very well, and the Fort Worth Surgery Outpatient did a wonderful job as well. So if you have any trouble with your upper extremities he is the man to see. Thank you!!
