I was nervous about having to have surgery on my eyelids. My attitude is "only have surgery if it is absolutely necessary." Cosmetic surgery is not something I would ever consider. My opthamologist has been telling me for years that an eyelid lift would improve my field of vision, since skin drooped down over my lids and partially pushed them closed. I finally conceded and went to the MD she recommended highly, Dr. Shulkin. His staff was great getting me an appointment that worked with my schedule. In person, they were just as pleasant and efficient. Dr. Shulkin has a great manner about him and is very knowledgeable. He shared that knowledge easily and answered all of my questions. My surgery was So successful! My rectangle of vision turned into a big, open square. I never realized how limited I was. My eyes look brighter and more open. I am so pleased and thankful!

I cannot thank Dr. Shulkin and his team enough! I noticed my double vision a few years ago, and over time my condition worsened to the point where daily activities—especially driving—became increasingly difficult. It was frustrating and even a little scary. From my very first appointment, Dr. Shulkin made me feel confident I was in the right hands. He is extremely straightforward in the best possible way. He laid out everything honestly—the risks, the benefits, and exactly what he was planning to do during surgery—while also taking the time to sit with me and answer every single one of my questions. That combination of honesty, clarity, and patience gave me a lot of peace of mind. His staff deserves just as much praise. They were warm, compassionate, and attentive, which made the entire process far less intimidating. I never once felt rushed or like “just another patient.” What impressed me the most was the follow-up. Just two days after my surgery, Dr. Shulkin personally called me… to check in. It wasn’t a rushed call—he truly wanted to make sure I was doing well and that all of my concerns were addressed. That level of care is rare and meant so much to me. Thanks to Dr. Shulkin’s skill and the support of his amazing team, my eyesight has been restored. I feel like I’ve gotten my quality of life back, and I am beyond grateful for their expertise, kindness, and dedication. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Shulkin to anyone facing similar challenges.

Dr Shulkin is one of the very best doctors I’ve ever seen. He listened to my questions and then assured me that he could fix my hooded eyes and poor eyesight as a result of aging. He explained the process and it went exactly as he said it would. At my follow up I was still swollen but he said that in a few weeks he would make sure it was just right or he would fix anything that wasn’t perfect. That was not needed as it healed perfectly, I noticed a lot of children in the office during my visits and I could tell that he has a heart for fixing eyes!

My daughter and I recently took my wife to see Dr. Shulkin to have her eyes examined after suffering a lacunar stroke from her cerebral small ischemic vessel disease along with having Parkinson's disease. From the initial scheduling an appointment for my wife to the appointment itself everything was first class and went very smoothly. My wife felt very comfortable during her visit due to the caring and professional support provided by Dr Shulkin and his staff. A great experience that my wife hadn't received in the past during her previous eye doctor visits. Dr. Shulkin's patient caring and friendly attitude contributed to a wonderful medical experience which helped diagnose significant eye disease conditions that other doctors had missed. That is why it's valuable to your health to seek a second opinion. My wife's neurologist chose the best ophthalmologist to examine and diagnose her eye disease. My wife's PCM was impressed that Dr Shulkin was able to find and diagnose her eye… condition where other doctors had failed. Dr. Shulkin also referred my wife to a retina specialist to provide further evaluation and treatment of her CRVO and serious eye condition. Dr Shulkin has been such a blessing to us. My daughter went for consultation in December 2024 that day he gave us hope that he could fix both of her eyes, so we scheduled her surgery for March. We had a bit of a confusion with pre-op appointment and surgery. When we went in for pre-op appointment her made sure we didn't have to drive back for surgery, he scheduled surgery for next day. My daughter had a very successful surgery with minimal to no pain. Just in time for her quince in April. I would definitely recommend Dr. Shulkin!

On a scale of 1-5 I would give him a 10. Pleasant, personable, efficient, highly skilled, Dr. Shulkin is everything he should be in his profession. I got exactly what I was seeking in coming to him. I can't recommend him highly enough!

I highly recommend Dr. Shulkin for adults suffering with Thyroid Eye Disease. He is a highly skilled medical practitioner with a compassionate bedside manner. Because of his accurate diagnosis and treatment of my T.E.D., my vision was restored. Furthermore, Dr. Shulkin worked diligently to ensure the best outcomes for my treatment. He assisted me in locating an endocrinologist, a necessary member to my care team. Dr. Shulkin, nurse Rachel, and his team are a stellar examples of excellence in medical care!

A handful of friends recommended Dr. Shulkin for my 10 year old daughter. Not only is he knowledgeable, professional and kind, but his staff is just as fabulous. They were all warm and welcoming and so great with kids that it put my daughter at ease. She had such a great experience that she can’t wait to go back!

I was diagnosed with a severe case of TED that I have been battling with for 2 1/2 years leaving me with limited vision/double vision. After 4 decompression surgeries and 1 eyelid surgery and 8 infusion treatments performed by a different doctor, I was still left with double vision. The only thing left to do was eye muscle surgery to fix the double vision and get the eyes back in alignment. Dr. Shulkin was referred to me after my original surgeon cancelled/backed out of doing my eye muscle surgery. He saw me immediately, ran eye tests and scheduled me for surgery the very next week. Later that evening after my surgery when I was able to open my eyes, my double vision was gone. I immediately started to cry with tears of happiness. I struggled with the double vision for 2 1/2 years, having my body injected with various medications like Tepezza infusion treatments and steroids and which caused massive weight gain and put my health in danger. The following week during my follow up visit… Dr Shulkin stated just how very severe my case was and that it was a difficult surgery. When he tested my eyes he said...”Wow...look at you”! He was so happy to see just how much better my eyes were and how much of a success the eye surgery was. My insurance was about to end at the end of the month and Dr Shulkin has such a big heart and saw how much I was struggling and he opted to do my surgery even though I know that no other doctors wanted to touch my eyes. He even agreed to see my in 6 weeks for a follow up just to make sure my eyes are healing okay even after my insurance expires. I look at my experience with Dr Shulkin as a true blessing. He was able to fix my eyes so well. I feel like a whole person again..like my old self. I would highly recommend Dr Shulkin to anyone. I have 1 more surgery to correct the eyelids due to the TED and Dr Shulkin has agreed to do that surgery as well when I am ready to do them. Dealing with TED has been one of the worst things to handle but DR Shulkin has given me more than just my eyesight..he has indirectly given me my life back. I will be forever grateful to Dr Shulkin for performing my surgery. I hope that he is able to use my severe case of TED as an example to other colleagues and patients.
