P.A. Pirtle noted that my X-Rays were all negative but he was concerned about the swelling and level of pain that I was experiencing. He noted that an MRI, probably on Tuesday, would be the next step. I had already told him that I would be leaving Portland on Wednesday morning. P.A. Pirtle told me to wait, returned a few minutes later, and told me that the MRI technician could image my knee if I could wait for a few minutes. The MRI technician, also took great professional care in positioning me for the MRI. This was especially appreciated as my leg had to be put into a position that was particularly painful at the time. The MRI went smoothly, and as I was getting ready to leave, they asked if I could wait a few minutes, that P.A. Pirtle would take a look at the MRI and speak with me. P.A. Pirtle then advised me of the damage to my knee revealed by the MRI. He drained a significant amount of fluid from my knee and gave me an injection to relieve the pain.
