Dr. Rene Young Choi, MD

Dr. Rene Choi is the best doctor a patient could hope for. He has treated a retinal bleed in my eye , and we learned at my recent appointment that the bleed has finally stopped. Dr. Choi is caring and thorough as he seeks the best possible outcomes for his patients. His calm demeanor puts me at ease prior to getting eye injections. I trust him fully with my care. His office staff are also kind and efficient. I highly recommend Dr. Choi and the professionals at his Frisco office.

My personal experience has been that most doctors, especially those who practice in highly specialized areas of expertise, lack people skills (bedside manner). While I do not doubt that these doctors are providing top-notch care, too often patients are treated like a number rather than being treated as an individual – a human being. The foregoing description could not be further from the experience of being a patient of Dr. Rene Choi. Though it has been my husband who has been under Dr. Choi’s care, Dr. Choi has always talked to me, and patiently addressed all my questions and concerns. He treats all his patients the same, and he exhibits humility that I have never seen in another doctor. While I hope I never need to be under Dr. Choi’s care, he will certainly be my first choice. I cannot give him enough “stars,” and would highly recommend Dr. Choi to anyone needing care that is under his expertise.

Dr. Choi is simply the best, he repaired a detached retina and throughout the entire process, he was kind, caring, and informative every step of he way. He has a very calming demeanor which in turn got me through what would have been a very stressful procedure. I was secure in the knowledge that should any problems arise (which they didn't), he and his assistants were always available for support. I am so very happy that he was my surgeon and took very great care of me.

Dr. Choi and his staff helped save and repair my vision. After suffering from a detached retina, Dr. Choi helped turn what felt like a helpless situation into one of hope. He walked me through every step of my journey before moving forward and always reassured me of what was to be expected. I have been to several appointments and Dr. Choi still manages to make each visit personal and well thought out. I am never rushed and I am always heard. Dr. Choi has changed the game as far as expectations from other physicians of mine because I now know what quality care should feel like.

Dr. Choi went above and beyond to make sure that I did not lose my vision due to a detached retina. I noticed part of my vision was gone in one of my eyes on a Friday evening. After numerous ER visits, an emergency optometrist appointment, and an ophthalmologist (not Dr. Choi) appointment scheduled that was inevitably canceled by their office... I was almost a week into having my detached retina before I was FORTUNATELY referred to Dr. Choi's office. Dr. Choi & his staff saw the immediate urgency of my situation, had me come in for surgery ASAP - even though it was Christmas Eve AND even did a follow-up to check the surgery went well the very next day - ON Christmas Day. I am forever grateful for Dr. Choi and his staff - they saved my vision!!!

Great doctor. Kind, compassionate and listens. Takes the time to answer questions and makes you feel comfortable. I would highly recommend.
